We ate at Ohanas on Monday (02/11) and I think we all agreed that it was the best meal we had at WDW. I was a little worried because there seems to be alot of negative feedback for the restaurant. We had ADRs for 7pm and only waited a few minutes for a table. I was in the restroom changing DS when the buzzer went off and by the time I got to the table it was covered with food. Everything was wonderful! The potatoes were still there thankfully and we had the new dumplings (they kinda tasted like mini egg rolls). They brought all of food really quickly so I could see how some people would feel rushed by this. But we took our time eating and enjoying the view. We got a prime table right in front of the window that faced Magic Kingdom. I thought we would be finished and out of there before Wishes started but we watched the whole show. We were there for over 2 hours so definitely not rushed! So for anyone on the fence about trying Ohanas, I would highly recommend it. The food, service and atmosphere was outstanding! :thumbsup2

I really like Ohana, too. What were the little dumplings? We were just there in January and we didn't have those. Were they an appetizer? What did they replace? Did you have two kinds of shrimp with your dinner? I'm interested in this change -- dumplings sound good!

Thanks for your review! We are eating there in September and are really looking forward to it! Can you tell me what "entertainment" you had? Did they do the hoola hoop contest, coconut races or hoola dance demo? Just curious. :)

I'm glad to hear that it wasn't just us... We were at wonderful 'Ohana on February 2nd for dinner and also weren't served dumplings. Regardless, I hope they're popular and stay on the menu at least until our next visit!

Thanks for your review. We are going to try O'hana for the first time this summer, and were a little concerned with some of the negative reviews lately. Glad to hear your experience was positive. I love the descriptions of the food and atmosphere, so we are really looking forward to our time there. :jumping1:

Thanks for giving good feedback on Ohana. It seems to be taking a big hit lately. We always enjoy our meals there. Sometimes is better than other times but all in all it is still a great restaurant.

I am so glad that you had a great meal there. I hate it when a restaurant falls on bad reviews......but I know Disney reads these boards, maybe they straightened things out there. It would be nice to know that our comments do not fall on deaf ears....and they did care enough to make sure Ohana was putting out quality food and giving good service..

I am moving this to the Review Board as I think it is a great review..

We will be eating at Ohana for the first time in Aug. Glad to hear you a gave a good review, I was hearing a couple of negative reviews and kept changing my mind to Kona and now I will keep my ADR for Ohana.

Ohana is fantastic when we dined there December 2007, I just hope the "changes" they've made are the only ones they'll be making for this year.

I meant to post a full menu of everything we had since I know I was really worried about all of the recent changes. Here is what we ate:

Appetizers:
~Mixed greens salad
~Chicken wings
~Dumplings (I'm not sure what exactly was in them but they tasted like a chinese eggroll. They were fried and had a sweet sauce on top...AllEars menu says that they are Pork Dumplings)
~Pineapple Bread

Sides:
~Maui Scalloped Potatoes
~Steamed Broccolli (very garlicy)

Meats:
~Steak
~Pork
~Turkey
~Peel n Eat Shrimp (spicy and messy but oh so worth it!)

Dessert:
~Bread Pudding ala mode with Bananas Foster Sauce (OUT OF THIS WORLD!!) I thought we were all stuffed by the time this came out but it was gone in a flash lol. I dont normally care for bread pudding in any form but this was amazing.:thumbsup2

We initially did not get served the three dipping sauces but after I saw them on a couple of tables I asked if we could get some. I dipped some of the meats (pork and turkey) in them to see how each tasted. They were especially great on the pork.

They did have coconut races and some other type of parade where all the participants limbo'd at the end. The man who sings also brought all of the people celebrating an anniversary or who just got engaged to come up. He then sang 'Fools Rush In' and had them dance. I cried, of course, because 1) Im a big baby and 2) that was dh and my wedding song and it always gets me everytime I hear it. The little girl next to me got to help start the Wishes show by pressing a button to start the fireworks.

So glad to hear a great report, we are trying this place for the first time in April and we are really excited about the new menu

Thank you for reviewing. We love it too! We will be there in August. The broccolli is new. I didn't hear of that change. We never felt rushed either. That's okay. Glad you enjoyed it!

I thought they changed it to coconut bread? I'd much rather pineapple bread since I don't like coconut. :crazy2:

OK, so the dumplings replaced the appetizer shrimp. I thought it was weird that we were served two kinds of shrimp when I was there! I wasn't a fan of the new bread (I forget if it was pineapple or coconut, but I didn't care for it), but those dumplings sound great! The broccoli sounds like a nice change, too. They still had those mixed veggies when I went. Sounds like some nice changes! Thanks for the update!

I think the dumplings are a nice change. I just want the potatoes to stay!

we ate at Ohanas on the 13th for the very first time. We were sat by the window facing the castle. Loved the shrimp and the desert was great. This is a must do for future trips.

Also tried Hollywood Brown and Derby and Blue Zoo, Both were also outstanding.

I'm so happy to see this review! We ate there last April for breakfast and loved it! A few nights after, we ate at Kona's for dinner and were EXTREMELY disappointed. All we kept saying was, "We should've gone to Ohanas". Well this trip we are!! I can't wait until August!
