I am having to give up Tusker for breakfast:sad2: But it's because I was able to score Le Cellier for lunch at 12:45 that day!! :cheer2: (I just got LC earlier this week so don't give up hope!)

It would just be to much to make the early Tusker try to fly though AK and leave in time to hop to Epcot.

So....I have two options for a character breakfast to replace it that would include one of the mice, Ohana's or Cape May.

Which has the better food?

Which has the better character interaction?

Thanks!!

pixiedust:Depends on where you are staying. They are both great and the only real difference is the characters. Mickey is not at Cape May but he is at Ohana's. At Ohana's you have Lilo, Stitch, Pluto and Mickey and at the Cape May Cafe' you have Minnie, Goofy, and Donald. The character interaction is great in both places however, at Ohana's they do a parade with the kids. Question is where are you staying are you closer to the Polynesian or the Boardwalk. Transportation can be an issue if you are staying at different resort than the where the character breaksfasts are. For Ohana's you would have to go to the Magic Kingdom and take the Monorail over to the Poly which if your reservation is before the park opens can take awhile. I was there last week and I stayed at the Poly my cousins stayed at the POP and it took them nearly an hour to get to the Poly. If you choose Cape May you have to get to the nearest park to your resort and get a bus to the Boardwalk. Disney busses don't go from resort to resort. The Boardwalk is closer to Epcot so its less time to travel from breakfast to the park. There is a character breakfast in Epcot called Princess Storybook Breakfast Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Norway. Than you are already at the park for you lunch at Le Cellier. I hope this helps and have a great time. :goodvibes

Both are good - we like Ohana better because of the polynesian theming and fun atmosphere. Ohana is also nice because the food is served family style and is good (mickey waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, breakfast breads, hashbrowns, etc.) There is a fun parade for the kids who get to follow the characters around the restaurant while playing maracas. Also, Pluto & Stitch have been hilarious when we have gone to Ohana for breakfast. Cape May is nice and is probably the most relaxed, quietest character meal on WDW property. The character interaction there is fantastic, but there are only three characters which is kind of a drawback for us.

If you're looking for more food choices I'd recommend Cape May Cafe. If the atmosphere is more important then I'd definitely go with 'Ohana. Mickey can be at 'Ohana, but not at Cape May Cafe, however Minnie is at Cape May Cafe.

We ate at both in Feb for breakfast.

O'Hana's: Very crowded, our kids participated in one dance around the room, the room is dark, food was served family style , fruit was really good, mickey waffles always good :) and eggs were gross (imagine mixing scrambled eggs with too much heavy cream & butter), the second batch was better, we also had bacon, characters came once and then gone (very quick). We probably would not go back unless we had a Stitch fanatic child with us. Saw Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, & Pluto.

Cape May: Not crowded at all, bright room, huge buffet with tons of food choices, the lack of a crowd made getting food so easy, everything was good, character interaction was really great and the characters came around 3-4xs each and really played with the kids. We saw Minnie dancing with some little girls, Goofy kept sneaking up on my oldest son. We got some of the best photos from our trip that morning. Saw Minnie, Donald & Goofy.

FWIW I have been bugging my 8 yr old about what he wants to do on our next trip. He asked specifically for Cape May.

Thanks! Both of the ADR's are later breakfasts. Cape May is 10:10am and Ohana's is 10:25am. We will be on day 7 or 8 of our trip by then and I am not sure if they are going to be rebelling about early rising by then.

We are staying at the POP. If we do Cape May, I am hoping we would rope drop DHS to grab some FP and they walk over for breakfast.

If we did Ohana's we would maybe do MK morning EMH at 8am and then break for breakfast and head back to the resort to swim. It will be our last day and we have CRT at 4pm and then plan on closing the park.

If we do not do Ohana's, we would have a chance to go to another park in the AM and then go to MK for our ADR after a break.

We will have a car, I am just not sure how often we will be driving. Right now I am leaning toward Cape May. I am sure a relaxing meal would be nice at that point in our trip.
