My DH is getting tired of my fence sitting so I would love to get some opinions from people that eyes don't glaze over when I start talking :).

Here is my issue: I have an ADR for Ohana's on the night that we have tickets to MVMCP. My ADR is for 6:30pm. I'm thinking about bypassing Ohana's and heading to Beaches and Cream around 4pm instead. I'm also thinking of perhaps making an ADR for the Grand Floridian Cafe at 6:00pm that evening as another option.

Things to take into account:Traveling will be my two DS (7 and 5), my DH, my Mom, my Dad, and me. My DH, DSs, and I have eaten at Ohana's before and thought the food was good but nothing special (the potatoes were my favorite part :sad2:). What made it wonderful was being able to see Wishes while there. I made the reservation there before I knew that Wishes would not be happening that evening outside of the fireworks for the party. My parents have not eaten at Ohana's. We have ADRs for Kona and the Wave on other nights during our trip. We have all eaten at the Grand Floridian Cafe before but it's been 4 years ago, we liked the food but it wasn't memorable. We will be in EPCOT before heading to the party. I have looked at a possible ADR for any where inside Magic Kingdom that night for a party of 6 and that's not going to happen. The ADRs that I have made for the week are all wonderful and I'm not disappointed any where that we are going.

So give me your honest opinions. Do I keep my reservation at Ohana's and miss a little bit of the party? Do I chance getting a table at Beaches and Cream that evening? Do I find somewhere else to eat that works with the schedule?

I would skip 'Ohana. You'll be missing a HUGE chunk of party if you keep that ADR. There's no guarantee you'll be seated any time around 6:30pm, and the service might be slowwwwww. You can't guarantee you'll be in and out fast.

If you decide to eat at Beaches and Cream, you might have a better shot since they don't take ADRs. If it's for some reason, too crowded, you can get similar food at The Fountain at the Dolphin resort. Just walk past the Yacht Club, the Marina, and inside the doors to the Dolphin, and you'll find it. I had a terrific burger there.

You won't be rushed, and you can get into the Magic Kingdom on your party ticket any time after 4pm. I suggest you go directly after you eat (take the resort bus to the Magic Kingdom) and get a wristband. You'll avoid any crowds of people trying to get into the party when it starts.

I have to agree. I would skip Ohana. It's a very late reservation and you paid good money to enjoy MVMCP. The party (I believe) starts at 7 but you can get in earlier, so if you were going to go with Grand Floridian Cafe I would at least go no later than 5. I think Beaches and Cream is also a great choice at 4 p.m.
