We have done almost every character meal on property (most of them several times). This trip alone we did Mickey's BBQ, Play and Dine, CRT, and LTT. Ohana's was the worst experience we have EVER had at a meal.

We arrived exactly at 10 am for our 10 am ADR. I know you are supposed to be early, but we were running a bit behind that morning. The place was a ZOO. People everywhere. We got a buzzer and were told it was a 15-25 minute wait. We were sitting near the podium and many walk ups were being told the same wait time. I was a little ticked....what is the point of even making a ADR 180 days in advance......I know, I know, it is to guarantee you get in, but it was still irritating.

We finally were seated at 10:30. Our whole half of the restaurant was virtually empty. I assume they seat the restaurant in waves, but come on....the people with ADR's way after ours got seated about the same time.....

Our service was AWFUL. It took 10 minutes for my DH to get coffee and we were never asked for refills on the juice (we finally had to flag her down towards the end to get some). Other servers were leaving the carafe on the table but not ours. We had to request more Mickey Waffles because the guy never made it to our table (they walk the waffles around separately). I asked for another basket of bread and it took 15 minutes. Not good service at all!

The kicker was it took the characters over 1 hour to get to our table. Our 2 1/2 year old does really well at the character meals, but that one was hard to explain to him. Everyone who sat down long after us saw the characters first. They finally get to our table and off they go for a break. After 1 hour the characters are finally 2 feet from our table and they leave......try calming down a 2 1/2 year old after that one! I know they need their scheduled breaks, but it was poor planning all around.

I will give good feed back and the characters were really good to with my son. And Pluto was the first one we saw and I realized after he left that my pictures didn't come out because we were facing the window. Pluto must have overheard me because he came back after he finished with the next table for a quick picture towards the wall, which came out well. Lesson learned for the rest of the characters.

All in all our worst character experience we have ever had on property and we won't be recommending that one. A shame too because it was one of the few that is semi-geared to the boys.

Our family had a similar experience with breakfast. We never got refills. Our food came out cold - we let the server know, and it came out cold again. We felt rushed. It wasn't a good experience for us. However, dinner was just the opposite. I'm assuming that we just had an off day during breakfast, and didn't get the best server. I will try it again, because I love the atmosphere of 'Ohana.

It's especially sad when the little children are disappointed. They just don't understand bad days, or being passed over by characters.

My intention is not to insult Floridian breakfasts, but I do not care for their Southern style of breakfast. I am constantly disappointed with the service, quality and taste of the breakfasts in Orlanda. I am glad to see that we're not alone!

That's too bad, I really liked the breakfast I had at Ohana.

Sorry that you had a disappointing experience. We were looking forward to trying this one.. I hope they get their act together before then!

We loved O'hanas the two times we went. Guess you had an off day.

I don't think they serve "Southern" breakfasts so much as the typical mass-produced buffet type of breakfast that caters to majority tastes.

Sorry you had a bad experience, I was there 1yr ago and thought it was great.
Anytime the wait staff is slow or do not pay attention to their customer always makes for an unpleasant time. Now I have been to Ohana;s a few times, and the last time I was there in July, I did notice the our waitress was slow/not friendly and did not pay much attention to us, so I know what you mean. Maybe the need to hire better/more friendly staff. So maybe they need to make some changes around there.:)

We went to Ohana's breakfast two years ago and it was our favorite character breakfast and even after our current trip it still is our favorite. I enjoy the family style breakfast over the buffet. Now with that said I think Ohana must be mismanaged right now. We went to the Ohana for dinner, we had ressie's for 6:55 and we weren't seated till 45 minutes later. Like the OP said, this night it was a zoo too. THere were people waiting everywhere and I know they have Kona's right next door. I service was good, but it was so slow. The waiters were working their butts off, it just wasn't fast enough. We had really wanted to get back to Magic Kingdom for the fireworks and we missed Tinkerbell coming down by about 10 minutes. The food was good and I don't blame the wait staff, I just think things were not managed right to have that big of a crowd waiting out front. I'm not sure that we'll go back, but I would still recommend this restaurant.

We had a similar experience with getting seated at dinner in March. We had an ADR and when we checked in we were given a buzzer and were told that we would be seated in 10 - 15 minutes. We were seated almost an hour after our ADR time. They kept telling us we were next on the list and we kept seeing several couples seated before us. We even saw a couple on their honeymoon walk up and get seated. I think they forgot us and my husband is fuming, we just drove from SC and are tired and hungry at this point. We go up and they tell us we were next on the list again. We were kind of snippy with them, which I kind of feel bad about but we were tired and hungry. We just wanted them to tell us the truth if it is going to be 30 minutes, stop saying we were next, and why are walk ups getting seated when we have an ADR. We told them we specifically booked this time to see Wishes. After we were snippy (not mean causing a scene, but kind of like look we had a reservation an hour ago why aren't we seated and why are people walking up being seated, you have been telling us we would be seated in 10 minutes for the past 45) with them they seated us right away. Service and food was great after that. We are usually pretty calm and nice people, but I think the exhaustion took over.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. We've done 'Ohana breakfast three times and loved it each time. Now, our ADRs were always very early, I believe the latest one was 8am.

Sorry about your experience. This is one of our favorites. We didn't experience any of those problems. We all loved it and would definitely go back.

That sounds like a nightmare. I just booked 'Ohana for breakfast for my twins' third bday. Our ADR is for 7:50a, so maybe we'll be better off at an earlier time. I hope they don't take forever because we have a 10:10a time at BBB. That seems like a long time, but I know how character meals tend to suck up time.

Our 'Ohana experiences, both breakfast and dinner, have varied from fabulous experiences to September, 2007's breakfast fiasco where we waited nearly an hour and never got seated - they refused to estimate how much longer - before we bailed (we had to - we had a plane to catch). It does seem like we always wait longer to be seated there than anywhere else. :confused3

We returned a few weeks ago for breakfast. It was ok. Service was fine. It took forever for us to see all the characters and they all, except for Pluto who was very charming, seemed indifferent. It's not a must do for us but I am sure we'll return.

We had the same disappointing service in Jan. The food was cold, especially the waffles. I wouldn't reccommend this one either.

Sorry about your poor experience. We've been to the Stitch breakfast 4 or 5 times and its always a favorite. Its probably one of the most relaxing character breakfasts. The food is brought to you no queing or kids under your feet. The coffee is the best on property. We always had a great experience. The kids crack up over Stitches antics. He stole my DS's bacon one trip and my other DS's hat. Its a must do for us.

Sorry to hear about your Ohana's breakfast.

A good wait person would have spoken to the handler and taken care of you. Maybe she was new

What a bummer. O'Hana is one that we're really looking forward to, as my kids are obsessed with Lilo & Stitch, so I'm hoping they get it together by February!

What a bummer. I hate that your experience was so bad.

This is our fave character meal, but I have to say that two weeks ago, it wasn't as high on my list. We had a great server and the food was good, but it took forever for us to see Stitch and the restaurant wasn't completely filled. After an hour or so (probably longer), I actually had to go up the handler for Stitch and ask if we could please see him before we left because he was my boys' fave character. It was awful to just sit there and wait, wait, wait. I just didn't "get" why it took so long for him to make his rounds and we usually see each character twice at this meal. :(

I am sorry you had such a bad experience in Ohana. We actually like it there, but I can honestly tell you that my tip for the server would definitely have been reflective of the service.
