Can anyone tell me if you were able to watch the fireworks from the Poly Beach after eating at Ohana's on July 4th? I was hearing that it was for resort guests only and I'm curious as we are planning a trip next year.

Absolutely!!! As long as you don't take the chairs off peoples patios. I've heard numerous other people complaining on here that people who aren't even staying at Poly take their chairs and well, it never ends very nice.

Are you talking specifically about the 4th of July holiday? I've heard on here before about it being restricted on that specific day but don't know if anything like that has actually happened.

Yes...I know you can do it on any other day, but I have heard on the boards that on the fourth of July it was for resort guests only.

I have no intention of "gate crashing" ;), so that's why I want to know.

We ate dinner at Kona Cafe on July 4, 2010. After dinner, we went to the beach to watch the MK fireworks. We were staying at the Boardwalk at the time. No one asked if we were staying at the Poly.

(And just because we could, we ran/walked to the TTC as soon as the fireworks ended and caught the monorail to Epcot. The crowd surge was behind us - but close. Made it to World Showcase in time to enjoy the fireworks there as well.)

Anyone can watch the fireworks from the poly beach any day of the year including July 4. We have done it most years since 1992, and Not once have we seen or heard of a real case where someone was sent away. Yes, you are not allowed to use the pool, and you can not park unless you are staying or dining.

In fact this year, they added a food service cart on the beach selling hot dogs and drinks. They had it out both July 3 and 4. They are capitalizing on all of the added people. This may have been there last year, but just didn't see it.

We do usually have a dinner reservation, so we do get to park, but once on the beach, no one knows who is who, and no one ever checks. There are added gaurds around, but that is just for general safety. They do not check anyone.

Thank you everyone! We will be going next summer over fourth of July and I want to have dinner at Ohana's and then watch fireworks from the beach, so its good to know that it is all "ok"!

Thanks!
