I checked the Birthday Cake thread already and couldn't find much info on 'Ohanas or Poly cakes. We have dinner at 'Ohanas scheduled and it's DD's 4th bday. I'd like to get her a cute cake. Do I order from Poly Bakery if there is one or another bakery to have it delivered. (Although, I don't think they really do that, right?) I'd like to be able to customize it a little (yellow cake, white choc. mousse, Buttercream frosting..maybe Mickey on it, her name, etc.).

Hi Pb, I don't know if I would be the best help. But, since noone else answered , I figure. I at least give you my experiences.

I wanted to get my dad a cake for his birthday. We were going to be eating at Ohana'. So, I checked that cake thread, and they had a list to contact Ohana' directly for the cake. Somehow, I had to call another number that Ohana' gave me. I then was given a choice of 6" or 8". White, or chocolate cake, I think it was chocolate mouse, or vanilla filling, not sure, this was almost a year ago. I asked them to write happy b-day dad, on top. I had picked the 8 inch(my father is a big eater) with tax, and charge. I think it was like $38. Total.Which I paid for the night we ate at Ohana'. Well, the long and short of it is this. We were so stuffed from eating at ohanas, we didnt even really make a dent in the cake. The cake was huge, it was tasty. But, not as tasty as that bread pudding, at Ohanas so we ate that, shared some cake with 2 surrounding tables, and still had more than half a cake left over. Which we took back to the refrigerator in one of our rooms. But, the cake wound up being tossed, after the second day. Noone, in our party wanted to eat it, after all the food we got to have on the dining plan. So, i hope this helps, somehow. Anyway, have a magical time in the world!!:goodvibes

All responses welcome! Would I call the Poly front desk or 'Ohana to order the cake?

I'm fine with the cost. Even if we have one slice each...the attention and just getting the cake on her birthday will be worth it. I wanted to do it last year and we opted for the free birthday cupcake instead. I just wanted to do something a little more special this year.

Pb, I totally understand you!! If, it was my daughter I would get the birthday cake in a heartbeat also!! I don't want you to think. I was trying to talk you out of the birthday cake. I was just sharing my experiences!! I called Ohana directly. They pointed me in the right direction!! I hope you all have a great time celebrating your little princesses birthday!!:cloud9:

Pb, this is the exact number I called. They helped to steer me in the right direction!! O'hana's 407-824-2165
:goodvibes

Oohhhh...thank you for the number! I give them a call 2 weeks before we go. I didn't think you were trying to talk me out of it..no problem :goodvibes . Actually, last year we were at 1900PF for her b-day and I was already to order this elaborate cake w/ the slipper and Cinderella, but opted out at the last minute. I figured I'd wait a few years to when she'd remember it, but I'd still like a character cake or something. Would you believe that I had ADRs for CM on her b-day and cancelled them for 'Ohana? I know. But we've been to CM at Xmas and last summer and it's so fast paced there.
