Ohana...what are the chances

I am going to WDW in Feb and am really hoping for a dinner ADR at Ohana on Sunday February 26th. I am currently booked at Kona because Ohana was unavailable. In the past, both at Kona and Boma, I have been able to walk up right as the restaurants were opening and have been accommodated. I did have later ADRs at both restaurant when I did this though. So I essentially was using my 8:00ish ADR at opening. We are a party of three adults.

I will keep checking back for an Ohana ADR, but is it even worth it to head over when they open around 3:30? We will be doing MK after I run the half marathon so it isn't a huge inconvenience to hop on the monorail. Without any kind of ADR I am thinking this may just be a waste of time considering we will be back at Poly for an 8:00 pm Kona ADR.

Thoughts?

I'd just check for an adr that day or the day before, something will open up, just may not be an optimal time

I wouldn't try a walk-up, I'd say low chance of success on that one.

As PP said, I'd keep checking for ADRs in the days leading up to the date, even the day before/day of. I will often see things pop up, but like PP said, might be really early or really late.

The one problem you have is that - like you said - it's the day of the Princess Half and I suspect there are thousands and thousands of people like you looking for a nice big meal like Ohana to finish off the day/trip!

Good luck with the ADR and the race!

Maybe I will get lucky with a same day cancellation. I wish there was a waiting list for ADRs! That would make things easier :)

Theres no alert or anything right? I just have to keep checking MDE and hope I see something open up?

Google "touring plans dining finder". They will email/text you when a reservation becomes available. In the past week I've gotten Ohana, BOG and Tusker house for 8 people at the exact time I wanted !

I was able during Christmas week to book a second Ohana dinner for friends I was helping since they loved it so much on their first visit on the 26th. Things popped up the day or two before so was able to get one for the 30th. Keep trying and something will probably pop up, just might not be till the day or two before.

As been said, just keep checking. The closer you get, the better your chances.
The odds are good if you diligently check right up to the day.

Definitely check the day before. I kept checking dining reservations for New Years Eve hoping for a Via Napoli or Biergarten. Instead, Ohana kept popping up at various times.

Same-day? No. Day-before cancellation, more likely. People have to cancel by 11:59 p.m. the night before to avoid the no-show fee. So you tend to see lots open up in the days leading up to the day you're looking for.

Same here! Tried to get Via Napoli for them as well for that nt. for a month, even tried Touring Plans reservation finder, and no luck, but got Ohana to pop up!

I second TP Dining Finder, I've gotten BOG and TRex. Also agree to keep checking, but things really start to open up the final 5 days before the ADR (a lot of hoarding gets released).

keep checking. i could not get an adr at Ohana for my last trip until like a week before we left. I just kept checking every day and eventually an opening came up and I snagged it.

I agree with everyone else. If no reservations open up, I'd say that heading over from MK to ask about a walkup would be a waste of time.

I second this! I just got a reservation at ohana for a couple weeks from now using this.

You can also check the reservations board here as people often coordinate when they need to drop something

I've tried for months prior to get into a hot spot (like California Grill on a weekend) and got lucky WHILE on the trip, the day before, at the exact time we wanted. Just keep trying!

I would be checking constantly. I somehow got lucky a couple years ago for my husband and I's honeymoon and was able to snag a reservation at 9:00pm. It was late considering we were driving home that night, but it was all they had available, but we got to watch Wishes from the windows too, which was phenomenal.

I called every couple of days as well as tried to book the reservation via the WDW website. I was able to book a recently cancelled reservation on one of the calls I made.

Just keep trying! You never know.

I snagged reservations at 'Ohana, Be Our Guest and Beaches & Cream this way in the past few weeks. It's a spectacular service.
