Ohana walk in?

My initial reaction to this question is "Are you serious?" LOL.

But I've heard of people getting in as a walk up before so it's not impossible. I would say your party of 6 might be more difficult than say a party of 4. I am not sure how they are handling walk ups now, but last time we were there this is how it appeared to be done. There were two separate lines at the check in booth. One side was for ADRs the other side was for walk ups. It looked like the walk ups were being told to form a line as they came in and as room became available they would pull from that line. In some cases I saw a party of 2 or 4 be pulled from further in the line if the parties ahead of them were too big for the available table. So there is a chance that if no tables of 6 ever become available that people who come in after you can be seated ahead of you.

Your best bet would be to arrive right before they start seating for dinner. I would just be prepared for a long wait incase. Heck, we've waited 30 minutes to an hour to be seated with an ADR, several times. I've also noticed that later in the night, after 9ish, the restaurant doesn't seem to be completely full. So maybe arriving late would work as well. Just not sure if they stop accepting new tables after a certain time. Good luck!

Go for it. I'd show up 20 minutes or so before they open and start seating for dinner. We were able to get seating immediately at T-Rex a few years ago with no ADR by just walking up as they were opening for lunch. I'm not sure you would have that same luck at Ohana, but it's worth a try. Maybe have a back-up plan in case it doesn't work.

Along the same lines as the PP's advice, possible. Not likely, but possible, depending on how busy WDW is during your trip.

You will have to be prepared to wait. Perhaps an hour or more, again depending on how busy they are.

And the advice about arriving before they open or in the last hour of service is sound, too. NO way it is going to happen between 6 and 9.

They open for dinner at 5, so if you're going for early, I'd say get there no later than 4:30 and start asking. Your best shot at this time is to get seated when they open at 5, if they have a no-show on someone with an early ADR or are feeling like doing you a favor and slipping you in.

The service officially ends at 10, so if you're going for later, you might be able to get seated after about 9:15. Keep in mind, though, that lots of people book in the 8-9 range to be able to be there during Wishes (if that goes off at 9) and so they're going to keep their tables until that is over - but then there will be a little wave of people leaving, once the fireworks are over, so you have a shot. They will not throw you out at 10:01 if they do seat you; if you're in, you'll get the same dinner and service as everyone else before you did.

Just for reference, T-Rex is very different. The non-Disney DTD venues only give Disney some of the tables for reservation. Folks have long reported that even if the Disney website is showing no ADRs available for T-Rex, you can usually contact T-Rex directly and get a table without any problems. So, I would suspect that T-Rex holds some tables for walk-ups and/or is rarely fully booked through both their own system and through Disney.

'Ohana on the other hand, is a very different story. I would say that with a party of six, you're going to have a tough time getting a walk-up with a short(ish) wait. Like tinkerbellybutton, I have had to wait 30 minutes past my ADR time on occasion. I agree that your best bet is to show up before opening or late into the night. I highly doubt you'd be able to walk-up at prime dining times and get a walk-up for 6 (unless, perhaps, you were willing to split into two or three groups).

I would keep trying to get an ADR. You never know when someone else might cancel and you get lucky!
