Ohana/Trader Sams?

I have heard rumors that ‘Ohana will re-open around the same time as the resort side does on 8/12. Really hoping it turns out to be true!

This is what I was hoping. I was disappointed when I didn't see it on the opening list, but then I saw that the whole resort won't be open until 8/12 and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Ohana will open then.

Now that the poly has pushed back opening I feel Ohana may not open this year? It seems like its a popular resort maybe with too many reservations to keep the resort safe??

Yes—I think the pushed back resort reopening is a clear sign that Disney is not seeing as many resort guests as they expected, and I would not expect them to up their costs by opening more restaurants/amenities until guests start returning in greater numbers—and given late summer/early fall is already the quiet season in normal times, I would expect it will be a while.

I believe resorts are only permitting entry for guests with TS ADRs a the resort. Trader Sam's doesn't take ADRs so if they were to open, it would only be for those staying at the Poly and I can't imagine that makes sense operationally. Its also very small inside and would have to have limited capacity, which also wouldn't make sense from an operations perspective. Pile on the new Florida alcohol restrictions on top of that.
It’s possible that may have been the case when Disney first reopened. However, we were at the Contemporary for the past 11 days and were able to take monorail over to the Poly with no problem. No one asked us about having ADRs. Also some friends of ours that were staying at AKV drove over to our resort and had no issues getting in there either. Not sure if other resorts are more selective right now, but the ones on the monorail loop seem to be fine with letting ppl in. That was my experience anyways...Ohana and TS were still closed as of yesterday. We ate at Captain Cooks. Kona and both gift shops were open.

My post you quoted was from June 30th, before the parks re-opened and when Disney's guidance was that a TS ADR or resort reservation was required to enter a resort. Reports since all the parks have re-opened is that they are not enforcing that.

Whoops. Missed that part!

Poly original opening has now passed, and we are waiting for Oct 4th to see if more Poly restaurants will open. I did see Tambu Lounge is open (at least that’s what the know before you go list says). Any word on Tambu, Ohana, and Trader Sams?

I saw the menu for Tambu today and they had zero offerings from Ohana. No bread pudding, no noodles, but they did have the Lapu Lapu.

I had my 'Ohana reservations 6 months ago and of course they were cancelled. I'm scheduled for a trip Oct 14th to the 19th and trying for the illusive 'Ohana reservation. I know the Poly is supposed to reopen on Oct. 4th and I'm hoping that the restaurant opens at the same time. I check daily in the event that the system opens up before the restaurant opening is announced. So far nothing. I called Disney reservations as well and they have no advanced notice either. I'll keep trying.
