Although we have stayed at the poly before we have never eaten at Ohana.... but I just book and ADR for our first night there and I am super excited!!! :cool1: I have heard great reviews about the place and how much fun it is.

My DH and I will be there will our two boys DS 7 and DS 3.

Can you all share with me and tips on what to expect while we are there and how to make it a great experience? Should we/ can we request a certain area to sit, or a certain drink? Are there activities that everyone participates in? (like at CP they all wave their napkins around?) :confused3

Any information would be greatly appreciated! :goodvibes

Oooh, you'll love it! It is one of our favs in all of Disney. I'm not sure if you can request a certain section of the restaurant, we've never tried. I would get there at least 15-20 min. before your reservation though. The line to check in can get long. If they don't seat you right away, you can sit in the lounge and order fun drinks while you wait. We love doing this and usually order a lapu lapu, pina colada and strawberry smoothies for our girls.

There are kid activities during the meal...a coconut race, hula dance and if I remember correctly a maracca (sp) parade. It's really fun. My kids love it! the atmosphere is very 'familyish' as all the waiters, etc. call you their cousins! So fun.

The food, oh mama the food! It's delish! Welcome pineapple bread, potstickers, salad, noodles, broccoli and various meat skewers. Lip smacking good! Then the crowning glory of the meal...the bread pudding! Seriously delicious. I'd have licked my plate if I didn't think it was bad manners!

Depending on what time you eat, you can catch Wishes on the beach afterward. Or the electrical water parade which we love.:thumbsup2

Expect to eat way too much.. and have a great time!!!

Beware the bread pudding!!!!

It never hurts to ask to sit by the window. There are not many views better or more exciting as you eat than the MK across 7 Seas Lagoon. Especially when you are headed there after breakfast...just a fun feeling.

We ate at Ohana in October. It was our first time eathing there. We LOVED it. Definitely a must do from now on. I will echo the other warning about the bread pudding. We had both of our DDs with us...when the waitress brought out our desserts, she brought ice cream for the girls. She made the comment "I brought enough bread pudding for the four of you in case the girls want some, too." The girls stuck to the ice cream...needless to say my husband and I all but licked the bowl clean! So, I guess you could say we got a little extra pudding!!!! :rotfl:

You can ask to be seated in the main dinning room.........where all the fun is:wizard:

We sat by the window which was nice. We went twice during our stay on a Monday & Wednesday. There didnt seem to be any entertainment the first time, we had a 4:40 reservation. The second time we went there was entertainment and had an even better time. I dont know if there are certain days or a schedule but maybe find out ahead of time.

This was our favorite meal in July! Even my husband loved it and he is a very picky eater! I sat by the window and could see Cinderella's Castle:love:. The kids and I did the hula lesson and they did coconut races. The food was excellent! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did! Eat some of that bread pudding for me!

is the window section and the main dinning room one and the same? or are those two different choices?

is there a set time the festivities start? are ressies are for 5:25... is this too early?

Like most TS restaurants they expanded their seating areas over the years and Ohana is not immune. There are window tables without views of the castle. There are tables not in the main area where the "entertainment activities" occur. The Tambu lounge over the years lost some of its table to Ohana. In our opinion this area is one of the most undesireable locations. You can identify these tables since their right next to the bar and located behind the wall that is behind the Ohana grill area. Ask for the main dining area with a castle window view when you check-in and you are willing to wait extra time.
