Can you really see the castle and fireworks from Ohana??
Do you have to be lucky enough to get a certain table??
Please give me all the info that you can.

Also, the menu says alternate kids choices available. Does anyone know what they would be??

Thanks so much for any info.

Alisha

We had breakfast there, I don't know how well the fireworks can be seen, but you can definitely see the castle.

When we ate there last week, DD was able to get chicken tender and fries. I think they also have other choices, but DD would live off of chicken tenders so as soon as she heard they were offered she didn't need to hear anymore choices.

yes, you can see the castle/fireworks from ohana. you will need a table on the side of the restaurant banked w/windows. just luck will get you there, but you can always request it.

Mmmmm.... my favourite restaurant on earth.

When we were there, we saw the castle and didn't even request it.

Also, I noticed that two twin girls sitting at the table next to us were as different as night and day. The one was outgoing and participated in all of the 'activities'... she also ate everything that the grown ups ate. The other one, sat quietly and refused to march around with her sister, and opted for a plate of chicken fingers and fries.

A 16 yo would be considered an adult and probably won't get anything different than the main menu. Kids can get whatever is on the kids menu at Kona.

so what is on the menu for ohana?

can you see the castle basically from anywhere in there?

we ate at ohana on may 11 and dd5 had peanut butter and jelly and it was the pressed sandwich type and it came on a platter with applesauce and mickey crackers, very nice presentation, she loved it at ohana with the games and my dh loved the food! he ate until he could not move, i really liked the salad with the lime dressing and the shrimp and wontons, not much of a meat lover but the steak was fab!! we did tell our server that dd would not eat the food on menu and he was happy to oblige

thanks gypsy! I am trying to decide whether to drop Boma and make a reservation for Ohana instead. With 3 children that are all picky eaters I think that Ohana probably has a better atmosphere for them. Oh, and could you tell me, can you pretty much see the castle from anywhere inthere?

We love Ohana's. My kids are pretty picky (and so am I). But we always fill ourselves to the bursting point. The kids activities are wonderful! About the time the kids start to get bored, they call the kids up to do something else. The salad is probably my favorite part. The marinade on the meat is wonderful. We are from Louisiana and we like seasoned food and Ohanas never disapoints! They dim the lights in the restraunt while Wishes is going on. If you don't have a window seat you can always find a place to watch in another part of the restraunt. Watching Wishes from the beach at the Poly is awsome! Don't forget the Electric Water Parade can also be seen from the Poly.

What's the best time to eat at 'OHANA to be able to go outside to the beach afterwards and watch the fireworks, etc? Thanks! :)

We allow 2hrs eating time. Sometimes (especially on the weekends) you may have to wait to be seated. Don't forget, other people will be waiting to leave the restraunt after Wishes. You could make your ADR a little early and just hang out at the Poly until Wishes starts. It is such a beautiful resort. The view from the beach is really nice, plus the kids and run around and play.

Hi again.

Ooooo. I love all this talkinga bout Ohana... Yummy! :cool1:

The menu can be found here: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_oh.htm

We went to Ohana the first night, last trip, and went to Boma the second night and were extremely disappointed with Boma.

Although I don't eat tons of meat, I did enjoy the skewers. Don't like shrimp. But probably ate almost all of the wontons, salad, potatoes and dessert by myself. :cloud9:

I don't know how much more talking about Ohana I can take before September.
