I'm trying to plan our next trip and I need help! I want to try Ohana for dinner and I need to know:

1. the best way to get from Pop Century to the Polynesian? From MK?
2. how long to expect the trip to take?
3. What time do they open?
4. How long will dinner there take? Could we still get to MK to see the fireworks?
5. Is there one night that is better to go than others?

Thanks a bunch!!!!!!! :wave2:

I have some of the same questions.

Especially with the fireworks. I heard many people mention that after dinner at Ohana they walked outside to the beach at Polynesian and watch the fireworks. Anyone done this and have any tips for the rest of us?

I DO know that the Polynesian is just a quick monorail from MK. By short, I mean 5 minutes.

I have some questions too:

1 Do you need to get dressed up at all to go there ?

2 It says its family style dining..would it be uncomfortable for a single diner to go there?

Thanks

I think they open at 5:30pm for dinner. It only takes about 15-20min to get to the MK from there depending on if you just miss a monorail. As for getting there, the best way would be from the TTC, that way you could walk or take the resort monorail over to the Poly, but I am not sure where the Pop bus drops you. If it drops you right at the MK entrance, just take the resort monorail, or the boat that goes to the GF and the Poly. The dress code is pretty casual, no problem with park attire. The view of wishes from the Poly beach is great, but you can't hear the music.

Oh, come on! SOMEBODY must know the answers! I need to know, too!

Right now I am thinking I will shoot for dinner around 7:30. If Wishes is at 7 PM we can watch from the Poly before dinner. If Wishes is at 9 PM we can watch from the Poly after dinner. If Wishes is at 8 PM we are screwed unless we are near the windows, which is why they need to release park hours in conjunction with the 90 day mark for dining! :rotfl:

Yeah, Jackskellingtonsgirl, I agree! How hard is it to post the parks hours to coincide with the 90-day dining ressie? While we're at it, could they kindly also post the EMH hours as well? Seems to me the phones would give up a little without the constant re-arranging of dining ressies that people are doing!

Just who do we call about this :cool1:

As far as the hours, they are 5PM to 10PM. Go to www.allearsnet.com to check out the menu. {the hours are posted there as well}

I thought I read somewhere that the dining room is in 2 sections, one being more quiet than others because of coconut races etc. What all do they do there and how are the rooms divided if anyone knows. Thanks

Here is my solo dining report :

I ate there alone this past trip. It was a wonderful experience. My reservation was for 8pm - I got there late unforunately - or fortunately - was probably actually seated around 8:40pm.

Ended up being there to see Wishes through the windows.

Oh yeah - I was right by the hullahoop area and the coconut races - the noise was not an issue - and being there alone it gave me a 'show' to watch and giggle over - the kids doing the races and hula hooping were fun to watch.

I think you have answers - Dress code, is what you wear to the Parks is fine, some do dress 'nicer' esp those "celebrating", we wore our "Hawaiian Shirts" and leis, so that works too!!

Polynesian is real close to the TTC, so afterwards if you need to get back to Pop, you could walk to TTC (out the door to the left, but they do have a nice pathway, beautiful! Easy to find, they have maps located on the walkway, again feel free to ask any CM's!)

Lots have posted about the Fireworks from the beach... to hear the Wishes, you do need to find the "speakers" and sit very close to them, they have one before the beach... I enjoyed a pineapple drink, in a beach chair watching both the electric water pagent, and Wishes...

oh, one other option to get from the MK to the Polynesian, you can take the resort boat, very cool - they stop at the Grand Floridian first, we were on the boat as the electric parade was moving along - I enjoyed that!! Its a very quiet, peaceful journey!!
