I've got a few. DH is dying to eat there on our next trip. First off, what is the price for an adult? Is it the same for lunch/dinner or do they only "do" dinner?

The bread pudding dessert...does it have bananas IN it? The menu said "banana's foster sauce". I HATE fruit of any kind. If there is a way to get it without any fruit "marring" it, I'd be a happy camper.

Thanks!

here's a link which gives the menu and the prices. Differences in price reflect child or adult guest. They don't do lunch.

As its name implies, there ARE bananas in the Banana Foster sauce.(According to the Allears recipe) Personally I would never eat a bread pudding without some kind of sauce. You could always ask your server if they could provide you with an alternate dessert. They do this all the time for those with allergies.

I was told in December by our server they could not provide an alternate dessert for my daughter. So I guess it depends on your server. I did offer to pay for alternate.

It says "prices vary" (which is why I asked). Someone had mentioned that it's more expensive during peak season (we will be going in mid September). Just trying to plan the budget.

Bummer about the bread pudding. I had to skip dessert at Liberty Tree too (apple crumble I think). The waiter told me they couldn't offer a substitution. Guess I'll just have to snag a better dessert in the MK after dinenr.

Your in luck because the bananas foster dessert does have bananas in the sauce but they can easily be picked out. FYI I hate bananas but this was my favorite dessert :)

Ate here Dec 2nd. 2011. The bananas are only in the sauce an only a few slices. The sauce comes in a small gravy boat and the bananas can easily be picked out. You barely even notice the flavor in it. This desert was awesome!
It does come with ice cream so you could just ask for more if that. My daughter didn't like any of the meal starters so the chef prepared a nice fruit tray for her. I am sure they would accommodate you as well.

Ah! This is good news. Picking out the bananas is doable, particularly if the sauce isn't really banana-y flavored.

Is the sauce itself not banana flavored? I freaking HATE bananas but am so looking forward to this meal. :)

OHanas does breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is a character meal, dinner is not. Breakfast is pretty darned cheap there compared to Chef Mickey and Crytsal Palace! I booked one of each. So excited to finally get to try the place!

The sauce tastes more like caramel or toffee with a touch of cinnamon. I don't think it tastes like bananas at all and agree that there are just a few and easy to pick out. Also, I believe the only "alternate" dessert at 'Ohana is plain vanilla ice cream - most servers are more than willing to bring a scoop of plain ice cream for anyone who doesn't want bread pudding.

When we went 2 years ago they brought out separate desserts for both of my kids... one with food allergies and one without. My younger (the food allergic one) got this amazing sparkler laden pineapple with brownies (gluten free) and ice cream (rice milk). Then my older son just got a regular sundae. I don't think they'll offer you anything special but I am sure you could get at least a sundae instead if you asked. I'd try the bread pudding first though... its to die for... MMMMMMMMMMM!!

Cheap because you get what you pay for. The Ohana breakfast is served family style but it's just eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles and biscuits. At least CP and CM have much more of a selection. We did the Ohana breakfast on our last day and were over the Disney eggs and bacon that we had eaten almost every day that week, and we never thought were very good. You're really paying for Lilo & Stitch here.

Funny story - my fiance didn't realize there were bananas in it until there was only one banana left :rotfl: and said, "You didn't tell me there were bananas!!" To which I replied, "It has BANANAS FOSTER sauce!" He still jokes that I kept the bananas hidden from him :lmao:

Do not miss 'Ohana just because you do not like bananas. The food there is great and so is the dessert. The bananas, like everyone said, is only in the sauce, and the sauce comes in a separate little dish that you can pour on. There are very little bananas in the sauce. Instead of pouring the sauce on the whole thing, you can take your portion and then just spoon some sauce on it.

My DSS does not like breadpudding so he just gets the ice cream. Let me tell you, they give him enough ice cream for 4 people.

Here are a few photos of the dessert.

Enjoy.

I had a traumatic experience with a banana a few years ago (long and quite funny story), so I'm glad to hear the bananas won't ruin the dessert for me. Of course, even if it did, it wouldn't stop us from trying Ohana.

Does anyone know the ACTUAL price for an adult at dinner? wdwinfo says prices vary (by time of year perhaps?). We're going in September....maybe on the DDP and maybe not.

According to allears.net (great place for menu info),
Adults $32.99; Children 3-9 $15.99 - Includes coffee, tea and soda
It says this was update 2/11, and "holiday pricing may apply." I cannot imaging Sept would be a "holiday pricing" time. We LOVE Ohana, esp the dessert!! :cloud9:

There is nothing that bothers me more than chunks of fruit in an otherwise "fruitless" dessert. That being said I asked the server to leave the sauce on the side for the bread pudding and found it delectable. The ice cream melts over the already moist bread pudding so the texture is velvety and wonderful. There were no chunks of banana in the actual pudding, just the sauce. Also the chunks were pretty big and would have been easy to pick out had I used the sauce.

:goodvibes from one finicky eater to another! I'm not "picky" I just like things a very specific way!

spot on, it doesn't taste of banana as i'm not a great fan either. the pudding does taste more caramel/butterscotch. :goodvibes

Yes, the bananas can easily be picked out and the sauce does not taste like bananas. I cannot stand bananas in any form, and I loved it. However, when we went in October, the bread pudding itself had traces of pineapple in it, so it you don't like any fruit (not just bananas), that might put you off, too. I'm not sure if it's always like that. I don't recall the pineapple in the pudding the time before when we went. It could be that they were out of their "normal" bread they make it with.

I had called to disney dining just to check the price for our upcoming May trip. The cm quoted me with tax including, Ohana dinner-$34.14 (A) & $17.03 (C).

I agree with pp about the bananas. We may have had four bananas in the foster, but easy to pick out. Ohana dinner was our favorite meal during our first trip to disney.

Reading this complete post I just had to laugh - to me the bread pudding tastes of bananas and pineapple :lmao: That's what makes me look forward to it each time I go. Not to disagree with the PP's it's just the way it tastes to me - even without the sauce which is delicious. Our personal tastes are so varied, I guess that's why we can all like and dislike the same food at the same time. I just love it :rotfl: Have been known to ask for seconds, and I am not that big of a person or normally a big eater  It must be the magic of Disney :cheer2:
