Is EVERY time slot going to see a luau show, or do you specifically request it when you make reservations?

You're talking about two different things.....'Ohana is a restaurant at the Polynesian Resort. The Spirit of Aloha Polynesian Luau is a dinner show at the same resort, but has no connection to 'Ohana. It's performed at Luau Cove, an open-air facility. If you want to see the luau, you need to purchase a ticket for the performance of your choice.

This is true. 'Ohana's entertainment features a singer that leads the kids in coconut races and hula lessons, but it's not a really a show and the "action" takes place in the aisle of the restaurant not a stage. 'Ohana features roasted meats and shrimp on skewers served family style. Check out the menu for both on this site to get a better idea of what's offered. :) FWIW, we had a good time at 'Ohana and I'd recommend it - but I think you're thinking of the Luau.

Have a nice trip.

The Spirit of Aloha show is a dinner show located in the Polynesian resort at Disney. It is expensive. It is outside. There are 2 shows nightly only some days per week. You get all you can eat dinner and a polynesian type show with dancers and a fire twirler and some other stuff.

Ohana is also located inside the Polynesian resort and is a sit down restaurant. It is also all you can eat and they keep bringing the food until you tell them no more. They do small shows and races for the kids inside the restaurant. It is inside the main building on the 2nd floor. It is open everyday for breakfast or dinner. I highly recommend eating here for dinner. We loved it.

You must make reservations for either of these months in advance if you want to secure a table. They usually don't take walk ups.
