I posted a few weeks ago asking for some recipes and got some great responses. Right now I'm looking specifically for the 'Ohana potato recipe (the scallop-like potatos). I can't find it on allearsnet.com although there are a lot of other ones there. Any help is appreciated.

I would think that since the dish just started appearing in the September timeframe, the actual recipe may not have made it out yet. Have you tried writing to 'Ohana or the Poly to get it? They usually seem receptive to people asking.

I called and left a message for the O'hana manager to see if they can call me back or fax me the receipe. I will let you know how this turns out.

I would love that recipe too if you manage to get your hands on it. I enjoyed my meal there very much, but that was my favorite dish of the entire meal.

I would also love that recipe. I would love to make a whole Ohana meal for my boyfriend, with the steak, potatoes, chicken wings, and salad. That is the only recipe I can't find anywhere.

The manager from O'hana called me back (within 2 hours how great is that service). He took my email address and said he would get one of the chefs to email the receipe as soon as possible.

That was yesterday. So now I will wait until about noon today and I will call back again and try to hurry things along. I will keep you posted.

Okay--thank you so much--I loved those potatoes but does anyone know what a 2" hotel pan is???? Thanks.

a 2" hotel pan is a little bigger then a 13x9 inch pan. Probably about 11x18 (something close to that). Watch when you bake it to make sure it's not over cooking :earsboy:

Maybe I read the receipe wrong. 1 lb of potatoes-- that doesnt seem like that much to fill a 13X18 pan 2 inches deep. :confused3

I would love to make for the holidays but I usually cook up 5-8 lbs of potatoes. I would hate to think of the size pan I would need. :earseek:

Thanks, BeccaGrace...somehow I knew those were not on my diet while I was devouring them :rotfl:

I might just do a trial run on these over the weekend. I was stumped on the hotel pan too. And yes, 1 lb of potatoes doesn't seem like much at all for such a large pan.

I'm guessing what happened was that when they reduced the recipe to make a home version of it, they forgot to change the pan size. For a 2" hotel pan you would need about 10 pounds of potatoes if not a little bit more to make it 2" deep

I made the recipie, that was listed above, and while it made very good scalloped potatoes, they were not quite the same as the potatoes that I had at 'Ohanna, I would be curious to see if they send you a different recipie.
