Which would you choose Ohana or Tusker House for a character breakfast? For those of you that tried one or both which do you think has better interaction with the characters and which do you think has better food?

Thanks for your reply:)

We've done both. They were both very enjoyable, but our favorite of the two is O'Hana. We loved seeing the Poly (our first time being there). We liked the family style meal vs. a buffet. The food was very good, especially the starter Hawaiian bread-- AMAZING! The character interaction was good at both. Both had a parade for the kids. I guess if your kids would rather see Donald and Daisy over Lilo and Stitch, then you should choose TH. Otherwise, I'd go with O'Hana.

I say they are equal. I would decide based on where you are planning to be. If Epcot or Hollywood Studios, go with Cape May. If Magic Kingdom, go with Ohana.
I don't think you will be disappointed with either.

We enjoy them both. Tusker House is our favorite.

It comes down to a few things. (1) Which characters would you prefer to see; (2) Which park are you going to (unless you are staying at a monorail resort); (3) Do you prefer buffet or table service?

Tusker House has a really large buffet and the food is great. I also recommend it for lunch/dinner (no characters though). The character interaction was good here. You get to meet Daisy here - she's a lot harder to come across than some of the other characters. If you get an early enough ADR, you can catch the safari ride pretty early - maybe getting in line before the main crowd gets to the area (or grab a FP and head to whatever you wanted to do first). Pre rope drop ADR's are nice here because you can get great photos in front of the Tree of Life with nobody else around. I was taken by how quiet the park was on our walk back to Tusker on our last trip. (830am ADR - go there early and seated right away).

Ohana has great food as well. The fresh fruit was wonderful. Stitch is a real hoot. We go here for our second day at Magic Kingdom (we do Crystal Palace our first day at MK for the pre-rope drop castle photos - plus it's a good buffet too).

You can't go wrong with either one. They are both great. Both on on our "to do" list for our next trip in late May!:yay:

Have a great trip!

Both are AWESOME! Like others have mentioned, it depends on who your kids would rather see. The food was delicious at both places. Even though one is buffet, Ohana is family style and you can have all you want. We were pleasantly surprised last year at Tusker House since we had never been there, but both are on our "must do" list from now on. Enjoy, whichever you end up choosing. You can't go wrong with either.

I would say both are highly enjoyable. Tusker House has more of a selection of different types of things to eat. Ohana's breakfast menu is limited.

My family likes both and the characters at both are really fun. They both have interaction with the kids with parades around the restaurant where you shake and dance. We found that with our children, one is a very picky eater, that Tusker House was a better choice for him because they have a way larger selection of food. Ohana's is served family style. You get waffles, eggs, bacon and sausage (if I remember correctly), bisquits, and potatoes. After eating this kind of food, two other times during our trip, Tusker House was a much better selection. I think it depends on your trip, where you are going for the day, and how picky your family is when it comes to eating. Either one is a good choice though.

If you are going to the Animal Kingdom then I say Tusker House. The buffet is large and you get more of a selection!
OHana is great too. If you are staying at the Poly and going to AK then its a toss up! Maybe do OHana another day and do TH the day of AK! :goodvibes

We love them both, but o"Hanas is our favorite. I would base it on convenience - where to you plan to go that day? you can't go wrong with either one.

We have only gone to Tusker House for breakfast. The choices were plentiful and there were a lot of characters. It just depends if you want a buffet type setting or a family style setting.

Tusker house all the way. The family style at Ohana didn't suit us. They brought out a fresh fruit platter that barely had enough fruit for each of us to have some. The breakfast platter wasn't much better. We felt the portions were sparce. The restaurant is nice though.

Tusker has a big selection of food with all the regular breakfast items and some ethnic items on the menu plus they make this yummy juice (I think its mango).
