For our first night I wanted to take DD to Ohana so we could watch the fireworks. We will not have passes for that day.

I've been reading about the BBB at DTD and thought maybe I'd take DD there then go to dinner at 1900 Park Fare. If we change is there somewhere I can view the fireworks from GF? Or somewhere else along the Monorail without having to enter the park?

You can see them, fairly well, from the marina at GF in front of Gasparillas (quick meal place). You can also see them from the fourth floor concourse at CR, also can walk out of hotel and stand on the landings for the stairs (they're outside) . I remmeber years ago, our first stay at the CR, being able to go up on the roof and watch the Electric Water Pagent. Not allowed anymore. :( One thing I suggest if you plan on watching from the beach at the Poly is to wear bug spray. The mosquitoes feasted on my girls in October one year.

We were there in April for DD's 7th Birthday - did the BBB with her and her sister (age 10) and then went to 1900 Park Fare for dinner - it was absolutely wonderful! The characters were very attentive, cooperative for pictures and food was good (yummy strawberry soup!) Both of our girls LOVED it! It was early in the evening, so the timing didn't work for fireworks that night but on a different night, we ate at Narcoosee's and watched the fireworks which was great. There is a dock area right over by Narcoosees and we saw alot of people watching the fireworks from there. If you scheduled the timing right, this could be a great experience.
