can't believe it! I found out the other day I had to switch my days at the parks around unexpectedly and wanted another night for my Ohana dinner, so ever since then I've been look'n like 10 times a day and I just snagged one for my family of 5 for 5:30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Awesome. You got a better time than I did. I got 7:10 so I'll keep looking hoping to snag an earlier time ;).

just curious, whats all the rage about ohana? whats like the signature dish there?

'Ohana is located in the Poly serves the food family style...grilled meats, noodles, peel and eat shrimp, vegetables, bread and dessert. There's also entertainment for the children. I can't tell you what the rage is since I haven't been yet, but we're looking forward to it. It wasn't even on our list of restaurants until I saw how popular it was. Seems like it'll be fun for my DD who'll be 4.

ah okay. that sounds like a great family place. im only going with my SO.

BREAD PUDDING!!!!!

thats the rage lol! ITS YUMMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:lmao:

Congrats! I'm still trying to find something earlier than 9:15 (which is the ADR I have).

KB24, if it's just you and your SO, I probably would skip it. A friend of mine went with her husband and did not enjoy her experience but she said she could see how families would really enjoy it. It's definitely not the place for a quiet, romantic dinner.

i love ohana, but i couldnt go with just 2 people. its great that they bring you more and more, but when you say no thanks they seem to pile on more. i for one was raised not to waste food. its deff more of a family meal IMO.

We are going to Ohana our first night (5:15 ADR). My sister, BIL and their three girls will be eating there too! I am so excited!

We just got back, and we ate at Ohana's last Sunday night. It was AMAZING! The atmosphere A+++, food A++++,service B (server was very busy, and front desk lady a little less than cordial), but the entertainment and food more than made up for the shortcomings. The meat and shrimp was grilled to perfection, the hawaiian bread yuuummmy, the sticky wings oh so good, and the bread pudding (even though I had to force myself to eat some bc I was so stuffed) was TDF!!!!!!!!! Gosh it was so good! And the pina colada I had was verryyy good too! We also ate at Le Cellier which was super good too, but 'Ohanas was my favorite meal! We also had a fabulous view of the lagoon from our table.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I got ours for March 2011 also with no problems. I asked for a 7:30pm ADR and got 7:05pm. I can't wait to go and eat there and experience all the stuff people have been so excited about

I am also curious to know what the deal is w/ Ohana. I would rather go there for dinner (breakfast is too hard, time-wise), but the info on the ADR site says there are no characters, can you give me an idea of what kind of entertainment there is?
Also, for anybody who already knows about the bread pudding and loves it, what is it?! Thanks!!!!

The deal with Ohana is not only the warmth of the staff and the cool surroundings. You have to remember that the Poly was the 2nd resort ever built on Disney property and Ohana was the first sit down restaurant to open there. it has a large history. My parents ate there on their first year of marriage. I ate there for my first character breakfast with i was 3 years old. My 12 year old ate there for dinner last March. It's a family tradition. We always go there!

Well,,,, almost always. OP thanks for giving me hope. I just can't seem to get an ADR for our october 6-10 trip:headache:

Ohana's food is fantastic and you definately leave feeling stuffed. Last time we were there, we were lucky enough to have a table right against the window with a fantastic view of Cinderella's Castle. We had a late reservation, so when Wishes started, they had the music from MK playing inside the restaurant. Just a magical dinner.

It's just been the two of us the last 2 trips and we time our Ohana ressies for the 'Wishes' fireworks, so far we've had good viewing. It's not just for families, we're going twice next March.

At dinner they have some live entertainment...we had a guy from Hawaii singing hawaiian songs, I've heard there is a woman who sings as well. The kids got pulled up for the limbo, hula, and coconut/broom races. The bread pudding is heaven! Its very light, almost like a souffle. It has a nice vanilla flavor to it. It is topped with good vanilla ice cream and then they pour on a caramel sauce and banana foster type sauce on it. I'm not a huge banana fan but this stuff is heavenly. Be sure to leave room though because I was so stuffed from dinner I was only able to have a few bites. I found the recipe though so I'm going to have to make it!
