Ohana for two?

DH and I are planning a "date night" for us, and leaving our 18 year old daughter and 9 year old niece back at the Poly for the night. Thought they'd just get a bite at Captain Cooks, but I just had a great idea (and I'm really excited about it). Since we've only planned Poly meals at Kona, how about a "girl's night out" at either the Luau or Ohana?? I know my niece (who's parents think WDW would NEVER suit their tastes) would be so psyched to get dressed up for a special night out with her big cousin! My only recollection of Ohana is big tables! Are there tables for 2? Or do you think the Luau would be more fun for them?? I love planning...if I can't be there..I love being here planning! It's so much fun!

There are tables for two. The lua has long tables where you sit with other people, though you're pretty well seperated...if that makes any sense.

yep, there are tables for 2. Last yr. we had a table for 2 beside the wondow and soon I will be sitting there again. That is going to be my first night out at Disney

Does the luau still do the special 'Minnie' version? We haven't been for years, but there used to be one sitting that was themed more for children with character visits and Minnie doing the hula.

I think either idea is great! I know I would have loved to have done that at her age...GREAT IDEA! If the timing is right, perhaps the they can watch the EP and fireworks...make sure your DD takes a camera. Sounds like many kodak moments to me!

There are definitely very nice tables for 2 at O'Hana. I have enjoyed them myself many times, however IMHO from my experience with my kids over the years at WDW, I think 18 yo DD and 9 yo niece would enjoy having the room charge card and being able to go to one of the parks for the evening (maybe MK on an E ticket night) and having dinner at the park or maybe even a trip to DTD where they could eat at PH, RFC or House of Blues and then do some shopping at Virgin Mega Record store, the big Disney store etc. Of course you would have to set a $$ limit, because a teenager with a Disney version of a credit card could go wild!!! LOL! My kids even at the ages of 19 & 21, enjoy O'Hana and the Luau very much when we are all there together but when they are on their own they much more prefer DTD or a park vs a resort restaurant or dinner show.

No, the Poly dropped the character show a couple of years ago.
