My DD is VERY picky….not a meat eater, ok with vegetables, not big on salads, etc. What is on the menu for Ohana's dinner? I'd like to try the restaurant since we'll be staying there on our next trip but don't want to waste the money if there's not enough she'll eat.

If you click the link in my signature, you can view my dining report and there are pictures of the Ohana dinner in there. :)

The menu consists of: welcome bread, salad, pot stickers, chicken wings, noodles, steamed veggies, steak, chicken, and shrimp on skewers, and an amazing bread pudding dessert. Also, I believe they will bring out something for children who don't like the menu.

How old is your DD?

My 2.5 year old (are they all picky at that age?) ate the welcome bread, noodles, and the bread pudding dessert. I was hoping he'd eat more veggies but his willingness to eat is usually gone by dinner time and I try not to force those kinds of things on vacation, in public.

We were there last month, just after they brought the chicken back (yay!).

She's 17! I can't tell you how many menus I've had her look at that she has turned her nose up at. It's getting frustrating! Can I ask a dumb question….what are pot stickers?

Chinese Pork dumplings, generally served with a dipping sauce.

LOL! I have a picky DD15, and I keep thinking that we should have outgrown the picky stage by now! Honestly, I don't know if I'd recommend it for her. The start off with bread and salad, then move to chicken wings and potstickers (which have meat in them), and then noodles with steamed veggies. Main course is made up of grilled steak, chicken and shrimp. Unless she'd fill up on the bread, noodles, and veggies -- and the shrimp if she eats it -- plus the bread pudding for dessert, you might be better off somewhere else. You could always check out Knoa. And, you can get the fabulous bread pudding there now!

"OHana does not have a menu. It is a set meal and All You Care to Eat.
They do offer children alternatives, but I don't know how they would deal with a 17 yo. Plus even if she got a grilled cheese or nuggets you would be paying full adult price for that.
It sounds like it may not be the place for you

I feel ya! I have a somewhat picky fiance although he devoured everything at Ohana. Maybe Kona Cafe would work for you? You can still get the Polynesian flair, while she can choose something off the menu you know she'll like.

There were lettuce wraps(sooooo good), the salad you had to ask for but it was delicious! Noodles and veggies.

Also, the wings, dumplings, pork, steak, and shrimp.

My daughter had a special dietary need and they made her a completely separate meal!

I wouldn't pass! It was sooooo good!

The lettuce wraps and pork are no longer on the menu. They brought back the salad to replace the wraps, and they removed the pork without adding anything new.

I recommend you go to the Dining Reviews page. I'd say 85% of the dining reviews include 'Ohana, and they include pictures!

Can anyone comment on the wait time? My first time will be on a Wed night (last week of May) and I've read sometimes it can be 30mins+ to be seated.

She's 17???? I thought for sure you were describing a toddler! DEFINITELY skip 'Ohana!

The wait time varies and gets longer the later into the evening your ADR is. Remember an ADR is not a reservation, in the traditional sense. They are NOT holding a table for your party of 4 at 7 PM with a 7 PM ADR. That ADR puts you next in line for the next table for 4. I guest linger over dinner, and they do, the seating gets backed up.
Waits of 30 minutes at 'OHana are reported frequently and some have reported even waits exceeding 45- 60 minutes.

You made a very good point Hopefully. I have to keep in mind that it's a "next in line" system. Our ADR is at 5:45pm and I will make sure to leave MK in time to arrive in time. I'm trying to keep eating times as close as they are at home for my 2.5 year old.

They have made vegetarian dishes for people in the past. Maybe you could add that to your reservation and see what they could make her. We took a picky 5 year old along with a 10, 14, 16 yr old and they all left full and happy. You might also be able to ask for the kids menu for her, I am not sure what is on it, but it is more kid friendly food.

There is usually a line to check in so be sure to figure extra time for checking in.

My daughter is not only picky, but does not eat meat. However we DO NOT pass this place up! Last year she had mac n cheese, and a Large plate of it while my dad and I ate and ate and ate and ate. SHe had to sit and wait a while, but it was worth it to us!
