What is the "entertainment" at dinner? We are going in January and I got an ADR for 5:30. My parents and brother are coming with us and they are anti Luau......can you tell me what to expect?

I think the food looks like it's going to be good, and I am excited to check out the resort!

Thanks for all your help! :goodvibes

Usually...ukulele player, singing, hula lessons, coconut races for the kids, limbo contest for the kids, etc. Parents and brother may not be amused.

You didn't mention if there are children attending. If so the grandparents will love seeing the children participate in the hula lessons and coconut races. It is fun for a family - No hula. May not be as much fun for an adult only party. We love Ohana - but we have a DS.

We have a 4 year old and a one year old......I think the anti-hula problem stems from expensive and boring luau experiences in Hawaii!

We are all for fun with the kids and my parents are taking us all on this trip for my kids......I am just trying to find a fun place for dinner that we would all enjoy! We are by no means food snobs...and are traveling with two small kids, but we do all eat out LOTS at home and have access to many wonderful restaurants...so food isn't really the main attraction at Disney for us here....but you can only eat so many burgers, dogs, and chicken fingers!

Would you guys recommend another place?

This trip is our Christmas gift from my parents...and I only know about it so that I could make sure my husband is off work!!!

I guess when the "mouse is out of the bag" we can all discuss...in the mean time I have the reservation, and will cancel so it might be up for grabs as the time gets closer.

I need to do more research on the times for the fireworks, etc. so we can get the most bang for our buck here!

Thanks!!!

I ate there with hubby and 2 small kids (they were 7 and 4 at that time) and had fun. The entertainment was very mellow and very funny at times with the kids racing around with a coconut. The hostess of entertainment did a good job of getting participation without being annoying and it is nothing like a lua (they do have another place there that offers this). In my opinion the food was delicious too.

We tried O'hana for the first time 10 days ago and loved it. (Husband even wanted to go back the next night) We are 2 adults in our 50"s. It is a little loud but it was fun - and hostess? was very good without being abnoxious in anyway...even had a proposal at the table across from us. Food was very good. They bring out salad, potstickers, chicken wings, vegetables and noodles fairly quickly - then cousins come around with skewers of turkey, beef, pork and shrimp. It is all served family style. Dessert was a bread pudding with ice cream. Would definitely go back.
