'Ohana dinner duration and timing

Just curious how much time I should budget for 'Ohana dinner I have an 8:30 at California Grill for drinks/dessert/fireworks. I'm trying to fine tune my 'Ohana reservation timing so that I allocate enough time to get to the Contemporary and up to California Grill in time to watch the fireworks from the observation deck. I have 2 hours total between reservations 1 hour to eat, 1 hour to move between resort hotels.

I've never been to 'Ohana so I have no reference how slow or fast dinner goes and how much time I should allocate.

You could easily have a 30-45 minute delay before seating if you're eating at 'Ohana at a prime dinner hour (between 5 PM & 7 PM).

I don't think two hours is enough of a cushion.

The Ohana meal is all you care to eat including dessert, in case you didn't know. You will probably have to exercise great restraint to leave room for dessert at California Grill ! Have you considered a more moderate a la carte meal prior to California Grill?

Along same lines. I have a 3:30 Ohana (first dinner seating) ADR on our arrival day and a 5:10-6:10 FP+ for TSMM. Since we can take a bus right from Poly to DHS I am thinking we should be able to make it. Do you think? Thx.

First, I don't think 2 hours is enough. 'Ohana is known for running behind, so you may be lucky to have 90 minutes, and that's generous.

But the real question is why are you booking two ts restaurants so vlisely together? 'Ohana is all you care to eat, and it includes s delicious dessert. I can't imagine dining there and then rolling over to the CG to eat some more.

I like both restaurants, although I do think 'Ohana is overrated lately. I don't like either one enough to allocate all that time and money eating and traveling between restaurants. I would choose one and run with it.

Be careful with that 8:30 ADR. I am not sure if you sit in the lounge they will consider that you kept your ADR. I would hope that they allowed it, but I would be prepared to use the ADR and order some food.

Yeah, I'll be sure to let the front desk know if we end up in the lounge, if they make a stink about it we'll wait in the lounge until the ADR and then head to the table if it's ready on time and if not, we'll head there for a drink after fireworks so it counts as used.

You will need to take the table when offered or you may be canceled. Personally I doubt they will make you keep the ADR, but I like to plan for the worst.
