I know this may sound weird but can I just request the server at Ohana to bring us the salads and grilled meats?

My husband and I eat healthy with lots of proteins, as a lifestyle. So the salad and grilled meats sound fabulous... But we wouldn't want to waste the other foods. Would they accomodate our requests????

All Disney restaurants will allow you to leave things off. It is only when you are asking to substitute things that it can get a bit more tricky.

I ask for no bacon, eggs or sausage and have never had a problem anywhere. (Not at Ohana, but generally they are very accommodating).

Just tell them when you sit down that you do not want anything brought to the table other than the salad and the meat. If there is a breakdown in communication and they bring other things anyway (can definitely see that happening at 'Ohana), just say you don't want them and ask that they be removed. Make sure you really specify if you don't want the dessert, because they might assume you still want dessert.

We let waitress at Ohana know that we didn't care for shrimp and they didnt bring the shrimp skewer around to our table. You shouldn't have a problem asking that those items not be brought around to yours.

I agree, it shouldn't be a problem, but you should tell somebody quickly (possibly even the host when you check in, or the host as they're seating you), as the food started arriving at our table very shortly after we were seated. For example, we knew there would be no chance that we'd eat all the chicken wings and were going to ask for just a couple, but a full platter was at our table within 3 minutes of sitting down (they were delicious, so as a result we ended up putting quite a dent in them).

For us, it comes down more to not wanting to waste food, so if we know it won't be eaten, we'd rather it not be brought out just to go into the garbage.

'Ohana also has broccoli that you might enjoy. Of course you can ask for what you don't want, just tell them at the beginning.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for all the responses!!! :thumbsup2

Just what I wanted to hear:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: I thought the brocoli might be something we would like but I saw someones review that it was very buttery...so that's a maybe. But I definitely think we will enjoy the meats!!!

Make sure you get the bread pudding. IMHO it is the best dessert at WDW.:worship:

I don't remember the broccoli being buttery. In fact, I recall thinking it could benefit from a little sauce because it was rather dry. Maybe it doesn't get mixed well? Either way, I'm sure you could request it without butter; they are very accommodating of special dietary requests.

I second the bread pudding. If it fits your dietary lifestyle, it's certainly worth a taste. I HATE the taste of banana, and even I had a decent sized serving.

Have fun!
