Hi! We have reservations at Ohana at 8am the morning of our cruise. Is it possible to have brunch and make it to the port on time? We wouldn't bother but my 4 year old is a huge Stitch fan and we won't have time on another day. Thanks!

How are you getting to the port?

The port doesn't open until 10.30am and is only approx. 1 hour away, so a breakfast ADR at 8am will be fine.

Even if you are taking DCL transfers to the port (which start picking up at the resorts at approx. 11am, but can be nearer 12 noon) you would still have plenty of time to dine and meet the characters before setting off from WDW.

We will have a car and park at the port. What time should you plan to arrive at the port? We would like to get on the ship as early as possible.

The terminal opens at 10:30. With boarding beginning around 11:15-11:30. I'll just point out that the boarding number you get at check in at the terminal is tied to the Port Arrival Time you select during the online check in process.

The terminal is very busy when first open until shortly after boarding begins. Once the boarding number being issued at check in catches up with the number being announced for boarding, Open Boarding is announced. This typically happens around 12:30-12:45. At that time you pretty much can walk directly through check in and onto the ship.

You will have time no matter what your PAT time is, just be sure you don't arrive too early because if they are crowded they won't let you in. We are at Universal before our cruise and we plan on having a relaxed breakfast and will make it down with plenty of time. It takes no more than 1.5 hours to drive there, just depends on where you are parking and if you have to wait for a shuttle or if you are just parking at port, then that is even easier!

I haven't done online check in but can tonight - our cruise is in about 6 weeks. We will arrive at the port about 10:30, but definitely by 11am.

there again, no need to arrive at 11am if you can only get a 1pm PAT.

BTW Breakfast with Stitch sounds like a lot of fun ... and potentially messy, since Stitch can be naughty at time

However, the "sweet spot" for arriving is around 12:30-12:45. Regardless of PAT. There's typically not much of a line then, and the buses from WDW haven't started arriving yet. And Open Boarding has usually started (or will be soon).

We actually did this in February.

Our ADR was 8:55 (seated around 9:10). We finished around 10:15 or so. We arrived at the port via the rental car shuttle around 11:45. No wait to check in (just at security). We were on the ship around 12:15 - 12:30 and it was open boarding.

I have never parked at the port, but I assume this would save 20-30 minutes between dropping off the rental car and waiting for the shuttle.

I have the opposite question -- on disembarkation day, I'd like to go to have a late brunch at Ohana to extend our magic. What time would be a safe bet for a reservation?

We have done this before at Ohana, 1900 PF and Chef Mickey's. We have always made our ADR's for sometime between 10:15-10:30. That gives us plenty of time to get off the ship, get our rental car (or Disney transportation) and get to the resort where the ADR is.

if you have main seating at dinner your disembarkation breakfast will be done around 7:30 / 7:45 and you are probably off of the ship by 8:15, picked up your luggage and through customs by 9 (quite likely earlier). Onto a bus or shuttle. To WDW by 10:30. If you have late seating, push everything out an hour.

Or you do express walk off. and get stared earlier
