Oh, yes we are! **home from SSR, with pics and final thoughts, p.10, post 139

You're almost there!! I'm going to refer back to this thread when we get close to leaving and follow your very-organized lead!!

Okay, I'm looking at the TIW. Should we do it? There are 8 of us in our party, only DS9 eats off the children's menu. Our meals that are scheduled are:

Turf Club - lunch
Captain's Grille - breakfast
Crystal Palace - breakfast
Garden View Lounge - afternoon tea

It's quite possible that we would be back to WDW to use it again within a year...it is, after all, us! :rotfl:

So is it worth it? Where do I buy it? I can get it there, right? With my Annual Passes...

Edited to add: we don't drink, so that won't be a savings, but the food could be. And we're not on any DDP at all.

I think it would be worth it with a party of 8. We've had the TIW card a couple of times and it's a good savings, especially since the 20 percent off includes alcohol.;) You might want to check to make sure the places on your list are included, but if you're making another trip within the year I'm sure it would be worth it. Quite sure you can buy them at Guest Services.

I highly recommend it especially if you feel you will be returning within a year. For us, it has always paid for itself because when it is just my DH & me we do not do the DP and only use the TIW. When we take our DD & family down we usually do the DP and use the TIW card for appetizers and cocktails. You can buy it at any of the Guest Services windows, just show your AP.

I think we are arriving the same day as you (10/23). We will be at the BWVs and going to MNSSHP on 10/24. Have a great trip!

2 DAYS!!! :goodvibes

I seem to be stopping at Target or Walmart every single day this week for something else. Today the requests were a small hairbrush for DD12, socks for DS16 (anything to help those feet smell fresh for the van!) and a toothbrush for DS9 (anything to promote good oral hygiene). While there we picked up a couple of oldies movies in the $5 bin...Batman and Shawshank Redemption. Also got DS9 his haircut today, so he's looking all handsome. DS16 is cutting the grass one last time as I type this. Can't we just go yet? Oh, wait, a few more things to do.

Tomorrow:

  • Work
  • Final 3 loads of laundry to top off suitcases
  • Couple of product deliveries
  • Pick up bagels for MOPS on Friday morning (Walmart again! :headache:)
  • Shine bathrooms
  • Vacuum
  • Make sure kitchen is all put together
  • LOAD THE VAN!!!!!!! (with the exception of our overnight suitcase for the hotel that will have our toiletries, everything will be loaded and settled and ready to roll when DH gets home from work.)

Wanna know a secret?? We told the kids we're leaving at about 4pm, but DH is pretty sure he can be home by 1:00 or 2:00! We'll pick them up early and hit the road! We did have DS16 check with his teachers and he's all set to go in early Friday morning to take the quiz he'd miss, but the others only know that we MIGHT call them out a LITTLE early. They will be so excited! They can hardly sleep as it is, by Friday afternoon they'll be on Cloud Nine. :cloud9: Will keep you posted as we leave and hopefully I can access this website from DH's Blackberry on the road. Sometimes I can!

Please keep the advice coming about TIW. Will show DH before we leave. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback on TIW. I think we'll be missing you, though. We arrive at WDW on 10-9 and leave on 10-16. Have fun! I'd love to stay at BWV someday.

1 more day till departure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last link on the Park Map Paper Chain:

I have so much already done, but the list of last minute stuff keeps mounting. Will not be eating bon bons today. Can you believe that?? :rotfl:

Rather than tackle anything important (hey, the laundry is going), here are some things I'm trimming up to take with. These are from those wonderful DISigners over on the Creative DISign board. I just print all of these as a 4x6 photo for $.09 each. I started this fun little sign tradition after we went on the Disney Cruise in 2005. You know how they put fun signs on your mirror, like for the Golden Mickeys that night? Well, we do it ourselves. The first one will be taped to the headrest in front of each of the kids - one for each because they each want their own for their scrapbooks. I'm training them so well. ;)

This will appear on the headrest on our second day of driving:

We'll be getting in late, so in the morning of the first day on property:

MK is always our first day, but Epcot will definitely be next because this is our first F and W:

And we HAVE to complete these!

This is just for DH because he is a Donald Duck super fan! He has an album just for Donald photos, I'm not kidding, and we'd like to try to find Donald every location he is available.

Oh, I forgot, this one is for arrival night. I'm not sure how I'll get it on their pillows, but probably when they're not looking. :goodvibes I know they're not little anymore, but it's still fun.

This is just for Mom's mirror on the day we are doing Afternoon Tea at GF for her birthday.

My grandma is sending a little money for me to do something special for the kids from her, so this will appear one day and we'll take pictures for her to see them enjoying their Mickey Bars.

This, just because it is true.

Okay, back to real work, I promise.

Hi - Since I am home sick, I just sat down and read thru this entire thread! Wow, isn't it amazing as Moms and Wives what we do for our families?!?! What's even more wonderful is that you have taken the time to include your friends on The Dis with your plans! Have a safe trip. I hope you will be reporting "live" with lots of pictures! :wizard:

PS: LOVE your idea of the countdown paper chain. I think I am going to have to remember to do that for my family :)

BON VOYAGE :yay:

Work was great this morning!! I secured a long term deal with a woman who is paying me to scan and scrapbook her 2000+ photos!! Yeah! I love my job!

  • I have decided that I have children who are capable, so I am taking household chores off my list and putting them onto theirs. :rotfl:
  • I almost forgot to go to AAA to pick up my maps. :scared1:
  • Also almost forgot that we have 3 Parent-Teacher Conferences this afternoon.
  • And my cousins from Virginia called, they are stopping by my parents' house tonight for dinner on their way through town and would love to see us. AGH!
  • Plus add in the Husker football game on tv tonight - yes the world stops rotating for games here.

See why moms are insane? If I hadn't done all that work last weekend, we'd never be ready to go tomorrow afternoon. Whew! It's never just throw a couple things in a suitcase and go. :rotfl2: Right now I'm waiting for a friend to stop by and borrow my dog kennel so she can take her cat to the vet. Off and running again in half and hour.

:wave2: Welcome DisGirl20! Hope you're feeling better soon! Be sure to grab a couple of extra park maps for your paper chain next time.

I do plan to take the laptop and go live, posting from my balcony at SSR. Still hoping for that DTD view. So stay tuned.

Hi there, Just found your TR, good luck tomorrow. Sounds like you're about to have a wonderful trip. My suggestion for a hotel after driving, if you have a laptop, and a internet card (through your cell phone provider) or an 3G phone, I would get online about an hour before you can't drive anymore and try Hotwire. You can search the location you'll be in an hour, and pick the cheapest option that's reasonable for you. You won't get the name of the hotel until you book, but it's a great way to save money, and I am pretty sure you can make last minute ressies! Have a great trip!

And we're off!!! Catch up with you later!! 2:30pm, not too bad...
:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

I am sooo excited for you!!! I can't wait to read about your trip - I feel like I should be going too!!! Oh wait that is me wishful thinking!!!!:rotfl:

Have a safe and wonderful trip!! We arrive at SSR in 6 days! Ask for a villa in Congress Park....all DTD views!

Left Nebraska. 93 degrees is no blizzard like last year's packing up of the van. Iowa has construction... Another thing we've never dealt with on our winter trips. That's ok. We are on vacation and we're listening to 6 Disney CDs in the changer. Soarin' sounds so good when you're on the way!

Missouri. I wonder where Marceline is? Will be in KC pretty soon and looks like a nice sunset on the way.

Found your report today and just finished reading all the way through.

How exciting you are on your way. I look forward to following along as you post. Also, I will be borrowing some of your ideas when we get closer to our trip in January. My kids are DD20, DD18 and DS13, but they love getting surprises and they love to help plan. :thumbsup2
