there goes one of our wedding plans down the pan!

After reading about people having Mickey and Minnie appearing during their Disney wedding receptions I wondered about if we could do something similar over here. I had a look around and found some Jack Sparrow's, one of whom looked perfect. Just had a quote and his company want £595 + VAT for a 3 hour meet and greet. Such a shame as it would have been hilarious having him burst through the doors!

Our other thoughts were Freddie Mercury (Scott and his dad are massive Queen fans) but they all look nothing like him, or Darth Vader which I still like the idea of if I could find a reasonably priced costume and a willing friend. :lmao: if I could convince two friends, maybe the doors could burst open and Darth Vader could appear mid-duel with Obi Wan :lmao: That should get some attention!

Wow !! I've never heard of anything like this before - it sounds brilliant. :thumbsup2

For what its worth Mickey and Minnie are VERY expensive for the 30mins i had them! Worth it but expensive!

Sounds like a great idea though! Hope you find something more affordable!

it sounds like a great idea Sophie, I hope you are able to find something in a more appropriate price range

Sophie, you've got 18 months to go right? by my reckoning that's got to be at at least 1 carnival, 2 or 3 christmas/halloween/newyears fancy dress celebrations, I bet if you really took notice of some of these local events you'd find yourself a few Jack Sparrow-alikes. All you have to do then is appeal to their better nature, ply them with a few drinkies and arrange their transport, hey ho, you've got your self a swashbuckling pirate or 6. If you could get the contacts througha local Am dram, YFC, Church group or other organisation I bet they'd be more than happy and reliable

Sounds great Sophie, I am always interested in something a little less conventional :thumbsup2

Either that or bribe some students with the promise of a crisp £10 note and a free buffet!

I think it's a cool idea. :thumbsup2

I think it would be awesome if a Pikachu turned up at my wedding.. :lmao:

Now that would be cool
We walked up the aisle to the theme from Star Wars - the vicar was cool with that - he said that one couple had used 'Hakuna Matata '

Oooh, check out our friend's MySpace - he likes to think he's something of a Jack Sparrow....and he only lives in Wakefield.... :rolleyes1

Mark Dreizehn is the name ;)
Probably do it for a few bevvies but not so sure he's a 'dead ringer' :upsidedow

As Carol says I bet you'll find some 'lookalikes' in the most unlikely places :goodvibes

Sounds like a great idea, I hope you get something sorted that isn't too expensive.

Im sure some Disers could be persuaded with a free buffet to dress up as anything!!

Are the Disney Store still selling the adult Jack Sparrow costumes? They were quite reasonable. I'm sure you would be able to find someone willing (and similar looking) enough to act at your wedding. What a fab idea by the way! :thumbsup2

Hope you have some luck. Was going to buy DH one of those Jack Sparrow costumes for Christmas, but that's for another reason...! :rolleyes1

Sara. :)
