Well I've debated back and forth if I was going to attempt a trip report on our recent trip. I've decided to give it a shot... hopefully someone will read it, and hopefully the money I paid (am still paying) for journalism classes in college wasn't a complete waste.

Picture Disclosure:
I can't post pictures at work, so you will see a lot of [insert pix here] signs. When I get home from my jobs, I will put the pictures in. I have more time to write here, so that's what I'll do! A little odd, I know... but maybe it'll keep you coming back!! I promise, I turned into the paparazzi on this trip... there's lots of pictures! It's more enjoyable taking pictures when you have a BRAND new camera!!

About This Trip!
So we went to Disney World November 10-16. This was our 3rd trip within a year's time. We went November 2009, May 2010 and then we were back for more this time! (We're already booked for May 2011!) This was our 2nd time on the Deluxe Dining Plan, I have a Dining Report over on the Restaurant Dining Reviews board... but I'll be sure to note some of our dishes here as well!!

Sneak Peek!
This report will include a resort change, a re-proposal, a wedding site visit, a Snooki sighting (I can't bring myself to call her a celebrity :lmao:) and a small scene outside of Boulangerie Patisserie.

Meet the Cast
Me - Hi, I'm Deena! I'm a 27 year old receptionist by day and beauty stylist by night and weekend. Yep--I'm always at work. I've been going to Disney World since I was very small and I have no intention of breaking that streak any time soon :) My faves include Minnie Mouse, Tinkerbell, Jiminy Cricket, Cinderella and if Bean from the Muppets counts... then him too! When I was little, I never strayed from my parents--ever. However, now that I'm grown, I tend to wander. I either slip into a shop, not meet up where/when we're supposed to, stop to take a picture or go into a restroom without telling him. Maybe I just expect him to pay attention to me :confused3 When I re-appear and find him looking around for me, I always go up to him and say, "Oh there you are Perry!" I even bought him a Perry T-Shirt, lol--more on that to come!

So, he's Dave--my fiance--and sometimes I call him Perry the Platypus, Love Muffin, Muffy or LuvLuv. He works 2 jobs too. Our second jobs go toward debt and Disney. He went once when he was little, but has been 3 times with me now. His favorites include Simba, Donald, Perry, Tigger and Aurora. He said if we ever have a little girl that I get no say in the name--it will be Aurora. Eh, okay. He also wants to build an entire Disney Room and get the monorail, castles, tree of life, epcot ball, etc etc from the shops and make a giant room of all that---- we have a condo... let's get serious.

There's also Baxter--our Yorkie. He's the sweetest, cuddliest little dog ever. My friend from work stays at our place while we're gone and watches him. He loves attention.

A little background...
Dave is without a doubt the best thing that's happened to me. Are we perfect? No way! But Disney has a way of bringing us together everytime we go. Our trips, coincidentally have followed both of my miscarriages. After my first loss, there was a period of doubt in our relationship, it continued to get worse and it was suggested that we take some time away. So that's what we did. CBR was our resort, and we had free dining! We had the most amazing time and it reminded us why we fell in love with each other. Fast forward from November to the end of April, I was 3 months along, excited to go to Disney World in May and shop for who I was hoping to be little Jasmine--and we suffered another loss. I had major medical issues with this loss and up until the day before we were leaving, the doctor was advising me not to travel. He finally said I could go, but not to push it. We stayed at the YC-CL as we were celebrating my 27th birthday and his 30th birthday. I'm glad we were in deluxe club level for this trip as we spent a lot of time at the resort. It was so relaxing while I wasn't feeling well and the concierge staff was top notch! Lots of pixie dust was spread around and once again, we had a fantastic trip. Although I was advised not to travel, it was the best decision to re-group and heal at my happy place.

Here are a few pix from the past:

So in hopes of going in November without a tragedy in place, I booked us at the Wilderness Lodge in a Honeymoon Suite. Two weeks later, I was "working" at my garage sale (it was for our whole complex--thought I could make some Disney cash!) and his car pulls in the parking lot. I thought, oh, he took a half day to come help me, how sweet. Um, just kidding---they cut his department and he was without a job. So the next few months were a challenge, of course--why would anything be easy for us?? :confused3 In the end, he got a job he likes, and I got an engagement ring :lovestruc With our obvious loss of funds for the 3 months he was off, and an upcoming wedding, I did something I did NOT want to do. We were going to stay moderate and save money. I switched our amazing honeymoon suite to a king room at POFQ, based on reviews here on the boards. I was sad, but it was Disney, and this would allow me more shopping money!! Yay!!!

So until we left, I spent my time working, searching the boards, re-working ADR's... and obviously not packing. We packed until 2am the night before we left. The alarm went off at 5 am and I finshed cleaning for our dog sitter, got ready, packed last minute stuff, and my FMIL picked us up at 7:00am. We were off to the airport.

So there it is... the introduction. Can't wait to add in the pictures and share the trip with you!

I'm in! My DH and I were there when you were, we went from 11/12-11/20! I can't wait to see what you did on your trip! If you want to check out my trip report, the link is in my signature, I just finished up day 2 so you won't be too far behind! Oh, and we saw Snooki too! :rotfl:

Yay!!

So we get to the airport. CVG is normally pretty smooth with security and this Wednesday morning was no exception. We went straight through, put our shoes back on, grabbed our stuff and were on our way. I went to a gift shop in search of cold medicene and cherry coke. I had run out of sinus meds the night before and was hoping I would be better in the morning... but no such luck. It wasn't a bad cold, it was just annoying and it kind of made me irritable. He got some breakfast, but I was to congested to think about food.

We make our way to the gate and find a seat. There are families and couples surrounding us, and they all appear to be on their way to visit The Mouse. Everyone was minding their own business until we start talking about our wedding site visit at Disney. I slowly felt eyes on me, and as we were conversing, I would look around and find everyone looking at us. It was a little awkward, and I wasn't sure I wanted all the attention... so I quit talking. I let him play games on his phone, and I fumbled with my new camera. I felt the need to take a picture of our plane.

[insert plane picture here] :wizard:

So after our wait, we board the plane. Every time we book our flight through Disney we are seated wayyyyy in the back. :headache: Our plane was delayed because a teenager who was visiting for a Bengals game thought she left her cell phone on and put it in her carry-on. So as she rips through her luggage and unable to find her phone that she swears is "on" -- she finds it in her coat pocket. She thought this was hilarious. My anger level at this point was about a 8.5 out of 10. Through the trip, this same girl, that was traveling with another girl her age, made more noise than the 8 month old sitting behind her. My goal was to sleep on the way there----just kidding.

When we arrive to MCO, it of course took a while to get off the plane. We know our way to the Magical Express area and made our way there quickly. Immediate pixie dust was thrown our way when we got to walk right on to our bus. No wait! :cheer2: We were at POFQ in no time.

We were greeted by a sweet older man who opened the door for us. He was cute--I wanted to take him with us everywhere. We checked in, the CM was dry, not so magical, not happy we were there, just meh. I asked for our 'Just Engaged' buttons and she told me they didn't make engagement buttons. I told her they did, and I knew they did. ((hello i'm a dis'er!)) So she of course comes back with Just Engaged buttons and we go on our merry way.

The resort was pretty. The grounds were very well kept, but the buildings looked a little rugged. The pool looked nice, the hot tub small, and we're walking, and we're walking.... I pretty much knew at this point my request for close to food and buses when down the hole  That's okay, walking wouldn't kill us. Then we trek up to the 3rd floor, so much for the ground floor request, lol. It's just funny at this point, but I'm adult enough to know that a request is a request, and that I'm at Disney World, so hush :) We had dining reservations in about 30 minutes so he wouldn't let me take pictures on the way up--we were in a hurry, and I had 6 more days to take pictures.

So we enter our room. There is a dresser drawer laying on the floor. I was kind of shocked. I was going to put it back in, but then I was looking at the dresser... it looked like someone took a jack hammer to it. I'm sure this is wear and tear of luggage slamming up against it--but yeesh! Oh well, just a drawer right? So I'm complaining blah blah blah... and he's in the bathroom telling me that I probably don't want to go in there. There was garbage in the garbage can, used soap and shampoo in the shower. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned. :scared1: At risk of having a nervous breakdown, I left the bathroom, was trying to get myself together quick for lunch, and trying to think of a solution to make this trip enjoyable. The jesters on the bedspread were staring at me. I didn't like them. I don't like human faces on clothing, etc... it freaks me out. For some reason, the princesses and fairies don't bother me... but a Santa Claus face will give me the creeps.

So I got dressed in park clothes and tried my best to ignore the vibes from the jesters and think of one thing.... Chicken Parm at Mama Melrose. I was sure after I ate I would be able to think clearer. So I grabbed my purse, we grabbed our buttons and walked toward the bus. I can't believe I have no pictures of any of this. I was in such a state of mind that I couldn't focus on something that clearly should have been documented. I'm kicking myself now. We waited for the bus on a bench. I clearly was in a mood--and it wasn't great. He was trying to cheer me up. He knew I was upset, and he didn't know what to do about it. My emotions were more along the lines of... I didn't feel good, I got all good recommendations of this place and I think I hated it, I paid for this trip all by myself and I wanted to be happy for the money I spent, the jesters were going to watch me sleep, and I was probably just a little hungry.

The bus arrived and took us to Hollywood Studios. As soon as we arrived, I saw the Christmas tree and I perked up! I think it was partially because it was pretty, and partially because I knew I was about 5 minutes away from Mama Melrose :yay:

-----

I'll leave it there :) Time to leave here and go to Job #2!

Great start! That's so sweet that your fiance wants to someday name a daughter Aurora. My DH (also a Dave) loves Disney too but I don't think he'd ever come up with that, LOL.

Sorry about you not being happy with your resort. I hope your stay there gets better!

Looking forward to reading more!

We were there at the same time, same resort, Building 6. You really should have gone back to the front desk and told them your room wasn't ready. They probably would have bent over backward to fix their mistake.

Looking forward to the rest of your tr.

I'm so sorry for your losses!

I hate your trip got off to such a rough start but I know it'll get better. It's Disney! Can't wait to read more.
