That's what I was just thinking. I only know of the bank. When I read the post I had a picture of a stage coach coming down the street.

Same thing. They are a bank, and also historically had an express delivery service (initially instituted to deliver gold & other valuables). That stagecoach is part of Wells Fargo's efforts to get things where they needed to be in the least amount of time possible.

By 1910 the Company’s network linked 6,000 locations, including new offices in the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes regions. It was in these towns that the famed “Wells Fargo Wagon” delivered goods of all sorts, from a grey macinaw to some grapefruit from Tampa, as the song from the Music Man goes.
