We are leaving in a tad over a week for our October DL trip! YAY! :car:

Yesterday evening, my DH announced that he was going to bring his small compact camp stool with him to sit on while we wait for parade/fireworks/World of Color. He asked what I thought. Beware asking me a question because you shouldn't ask if you don't want to hear the answer! LOL :rotfl2:

I told him that he would likely not be permitted by DL Security to bring such an item into the parks. The rest of our conversation went something like this....

DH: Well, who's going to stop me?
me: Security will stop you.
DH: What? What can they do? I should be able to bring it if I want to.
me: What can they do? They can prevent you from entering the park that day.
DH: That's ridiculous. I want to sit on it so I'm going to bring it.
me: That's not going to happen. You can CHOOSE to do that, but you won't get past the bag check with it.
DH: They can't do that! >:(
me: Yes, honey, they can.
DH: But why? Why can't I bring it?
me: Ask Disneyland staff. I don't make the rules.
DH: I'm going to bring it anyway.
me: :mic: Good luck with that. You'll probably have to walk back to the hotel to stash it back in our room and you'll miss rope drop.

I mean...duh...it's RIGHT on the parks' website! Folding chairs not permitted. https://disneyland.disney.go.com/park-rules/

Direct from the Disneyland site about what is and isn't allowed in the parks...."Folding chairs, with the exception of cane-chair and seat-walker mobility aids"

If he still doesn't believe you, you can do a search of the DL site and show him directly on the screen, LOL!

Good luck!

Hahaha, we have had that same conversation! I think maybe they'll tag it and let you pick it up on your way out!

There have been a few posts about difficulty bringing in a cane-chair, even though it is specifically listed as a permitted item.

I have a cane chair and security gave me hell.. 3 days in a row.. they kept telling me to rent a wheelchair.. I said I would when they paid for it... I was telling them, their own website says I can use it.. but they refused to let me in.. after 10 minutes of arguing and getting sick of me holding up the line.. they finally got a supervisor and he said.. oh yeah she can use it ... duh !!
