Oh please can we go ... again!!! I promise I'll be good: 9/8-9/13

"I swear I will NOT drive you crazy talking about Disney." This is what I told my husband after he relunctly said yes to our "quick trip" to the World. Four months later my "quick trip" (2 nights) to a value increased to six days at a deluxe!! This is my first pre-trip report, so bear with me.

Cast of characters: (All of my pictures are from last years trip)

Me - Joni
I do not take pictures, Sorry. I am the crazy Disney person in the house. It is always my idea to do anything Disney related.

My DH- Troy
He is the person who has to okay my wild ideas - like to go to WDW. He says that he doesn't like Disneyworld, but I know better!!

My DS - Kyler
He is six years old but has a severe developmental delay. He is the sweetest boy in the world, and one of the cutest. He has a hard time talking but we are working on that.

My DD- Kayla (hence princeskayla)
She is the princess of the family. She is my secret weapon against my DH in the fight for Disneyworld. All she has to do is say "I wanna see Cinderella" and my husband melts!!

We are going to the Wilderness Lodge Sept 8- Sept 13. We are taking advantage of free dining - of course!! Actually, I was able to upgrade to DxDDP, thanks to my secret weapon. (Kayla is a genius!!)

I think this a good start to my pre-trip report. I better go work on my custom outfits - More on those later!!

Okay, I have just finished cutting out a pattern for one of my DD's Mickey dresses. It is super cute material and I am making the rest of the family applique shirts and some shorts to match. Last year I made my husband participate in the matching shirt game - this year, I am taking it one step further!! My husband does not understand the extent of my sickess about the matching outfits. He is in for a suprise!!! Since I am the one doing the packing for the trip, he is going to have a heart attack!! I bet he will NEVER let me pack again!!

By the way, I can sew. I started sewing in Feb, thinking about all the wonderful princess dresses my child needs. I feel bad for my son because I do not have many options when it come to cute clothes. But with my daughter - the options are endless!! I am going to make a custom outfit for each of my children for each day of the trip. Well- maybe like two or three customs for each day. I am a little obsessed.

I better get to sewing because I only have a month!!

I am sewing too. Did you make your daughter's Belle dress? Lovely! I am just holding off on DD's costume for our trip because her decision changes daily. "Mulan, no, Jasmine, no, Alice, no, Minnie, no, Tinkerbelle. Today it was a "kitty"! I ask you!

I could put your last name or each of your names or just a phrase or nothing. Your choice. I have a couple of other ideas. I know ya'll leave soon so I'm going to finish them as soon as I can!!

That is so funny! My poor baby does not get a say what I make her, but she loves it all when I am done. I did not make the Belle dress. My DM made it for me. That was what inspired my sewing experiment. Now I am hooked!! Have you seen the DISboutiquers thread? I get so many great ideas from that thread and the ladies (and Tom) are so talented!! Well I paid up my trip on Friday, but it has just know been taken out of account. I feel better now that I know it is paid.


Okay - I guess I better post The Plan. Last year I literally drug my DH and kids around the World. This year I will not be so gung hoe because I get to go back the next month!!! That trip is with my mother and sister.

So... without any further ado... I pesent The Plan

Sept 8.
Wake up very early and start the 7 hour drive. Last year I as not allowed to drive. When it was my turn to drive, my DH caught me driving 100 mph. I was promtly "pulled over" and my privileges were revoked. (My DH is a sheriff deputy ) But hey, I was on my way to Disneyworld!!

Arrive at the gates of Disneyworld. (Hopefully around 11:30am or so)

Check - in to the Wilderness Lodge: this is where the DISigns Wannabe Belle are making me will come into the picture. I am making - get this - checking in outfits for the family. Did I mention I had a sickness!! My daughter will have a patchwork twirl skirt with a wilderness theme. All of us will have matching shirts and the children will have vests with appilques on it. I will post the pictures of them after they are done. Wouldn't it be nice if my custom checking in outfits scored some pixie dust in the form of a room upgrade!!

Then we will have to change clothes. My DH is going to kill me. I am so glad he loves me.
Our next stop is Chef Mickeys at 1:00pm. Of course, I have a few customs made for this as well.


After Chef Mickey's its off to MK. We will probably ride a few rides then go back to the hotel to unpack our stuff.

At 8:50, we have ressies at Liberty Tree Tavern. Guess what - we have to change clothes again!!! I bought drapes from ebay that will be transformed into a colonial dress and a shirt for my DS. It is red, white and blue and has the fab 5 in colonial dress. So cute.

Well that is good for now. I will finish The Plan later. I really need to sew!!

Alright. I have my very first Disneyworld dress done for my daughter. I still need to modify it a little, but here is the basic dress. The pictures are not that great - it is alot cuter in person!!

I am not sure what I am going to do to have the boys match us. Somehow I do not think my husband will wear a pink Mickey shirt - no matter how much he loves me.

Now that I have that outift out of the way, I can start on the Wilderness Lodge one.

Now for Day 2 of The Plan: Sept 9.

Up bright and early to go to AK.

We have ADR's at Donald's Breakfast. We didn't do this last year so I am really looking forward to it. Our ADR's are at 8:05am. I am hoping that we will get done in time to go the safari at opening. The park opens at 9, so I think that will work out just fine.

On our trip last year we did not see Nemo or the Lion King show. In fact, we never even made it to that part of the trip. AK was NOT our favorite park last year. My DH and DS got seperated from me and DD. We wandered around the park for 2 and 1/2 hours before we finally found them. On top of that, my DH lost my DS guest assistance pass. Then my DD ran off by herself. (DH was supposed to be watching her while I went to the bathroom ) We were at the bathroom down by Nemo. The bathroom only has one path down to it. At the top of the path there was two CM at stands. I asked them if they saw my DD and they didn't even acknowledge me. I read in all the books that if you loss your child, go to the nearest CM and they would start the lost child protocol. Well the CM I went to had no clue!! It was a disaster. I finally found DD at the store where I pomised to buy her a toy before we left. Out of the 15 or so CM that she had to pass on the way to that store, only the one CM in the store thought it was strange that a 4 yo was by herself! Oh well, after that happened we hightailed it out of the park. We are hoping this year will be better!!

We will go eat at Rainforest cafe for lunch. This will be the only meal that we will have to pay for. We spluged and got DxDDP. We are just going to get a light lunch.
After lunch we will spend some more time at AK.

At 4 or so we will head back to the hotel. I have ressies for dinner at Whispering Canyon at 5:00pm. (We might change back into the checking in outfits for this dinner, or we will wear our costumes )Then it is off to MNSSHP!!

Now of course, we will all have costumes for MNSSHP. I am thinking about Mary Poppins, Robin Hood, Alice and Wonderland or Sleeping Beauty. Which every we decide, all of us will be a person from that movie. We are leaning towards Mary Poppins at this time. I better decide soon because I will only have a short amount of time to make the costumes.

Oh goody. I don't really care about the food. For me it is all about seeing my babies interact with the characters!

I got my trip documents in the mail today!!!

I am about to go crazy. One my friends at work has children at Disneyworld right now. She had them on the phone and I was trying to hear MK in the backgound. I can't believe that she choose not to go. I think she needs her head examined.

Anyway. I have been sewing like a crazy person. I really want my daughter to wear her princess dresses so I guess the family will not have matching outfits the entire trip. My DH will be happy though.

MNNSHP update. I think we have decided on Enchanted matching costumes. DD gets a princess dress, DS gets a prince outfit (not really excited about), DH will get to wear semi "normal" clothes and I get to wear a extravagent witch oufit. That works well for us. So, I am off to design our costumes.

I was able to finally found the coveted Minnie Dot fabric.
As soon as it comes in the mail, I get to make a wonderful creation for Chef Mickey's!!

Well, I have pictures of a few new outfits that I have finished, but my camera is freaking out and not working well. ( Very good reason to buy another one for WDW) As soon as I figure it out, I will get some new pictures up!!

I better go finish . I have been negelating that for sewing these days.

Love Donald's Breakfast Safari (we have been twice, the first time when it was still @Restaurantosaurus!) Try the juice...its yummy! Love breakfast ADRs before the park opens! Tusker House is close to the Safari so you can head right over after you eat!
Hope we run into each other @the parks!
