Oh NO! Son in law in Afghanistan!

My son in law is currently serving overseas. Just asking anyone out there to send some additional prayers to our boys over there! I know you all think of them anyway, but extra prayers would be wonderful! My daughter and cutie patootie grandson is staying with us until he comes home. Sure is going to feel even longer now with everything going on. Thanks everyone!

My nephew just returned in January from his second tour of duty in Afghanistan. Our thoughts and prayers will be with your SIL and the rest of our troops over there - until they all come HOME!

However, it would be a good idea to remove the base location, as well as his estimated homecoming dates from your initial post. Troop locations, movements, or any details about deployments should not be openly shared, especially on an open message board like this. Here's a good example of some OPSEC guidelines to follow and the reasoning behind them. This helps to keep our service members safe.

I pray for our troops EACH and EVERY day and I hope many others will, too.

It is ONLY because of their service (and our vets) that we are FREE in America, and we cannot thank them enough.

My brother is deploying in September for his second tour of duty in Afghanistan. My mother is not taking it well, but I will get her through it again. Wish the troops could all come home!

I will say a pray but please please please edit your post & remove the location & months of possible homecoming from your post. OPSEC is not to be taken lightly it is to protect our troops.

When my DH was deployed and we started to get dates we were told to not post them anywhere & if the command found out that the dates had been posted/shared online then they pushed it back just in case. My husbands flight got pushed back 4 times because one of the other wives kept posting the date & time of his flight on her facebook account. She just didn't get it. So over 100 families were waiting for their loved one to come home because of 1 person. You wouldn't want that to happen to your son in law.

Prayers for your son in law and all others over there and serving throughout the World. My friend's hubby is coming home very soon. It has been a long year for their oldest daughter (my youngest's best friend) and we are so happy he will be home safe and sound very soon. Unfortunately they will be relocating in a couple of months but they will be a family again.

Also, please do remove the added info of location and return. You just never know who is reading the boards and safety is very important.

Oh No! What happened? My DH is there now on a temp. basis. He said that the natives were getting restless. Asked me if I had been watching the news, but with three kids and a farm to run, there's little time for the news. Just spoke with him tonight, so he's okay. Hope things calm down there soon.
