constructed her shopping list. Today I was woken up at 6.00am by her talking about what she is needs from the shops at DLP. Apparently Simba misses his girlfriend! and Mickey and Minnie are planning on more children.. :confused3 She also needs a sleeping beauty costume so she looks like a princess.
(she has also said that me and my sister need to wear a princess costume..erh not happening! )

We gave the troops their own spending money on the last visit so that they had to pick which was most important.
Definitely helped with budget on toys :goodvibes

I think that is what I will do.. she is young so does not yet understand how much every thing is and the value of money so I will give her a choice of what she wants and we will get it on the last day.
I will also try to suggests not to buy more Simbas ,Minnies and Mickeys

Youngest DD was only 3 so was not quite as used to money as the others, but it helped with not enough, to much :)

I hate to sound cheap but I would buy her an outfit from the Disney Store/ M and S before you go . They are usually better quality and less expensive. You could pretend it was left in the wardrobe for her when you arrive in the hotel room. That would give it a sense of magic. :cloud9: I've not seen a sleeping beauty one recently but you could try Ebay too.

As we're going for DD's next birthday (4th)we are going to ask our nearest and dearest to give her money to pick out her own toys and I (as Reid suggests) will try to explain how many notes/coins she needs for each thing she 'needs' (They don't 'want' at this age ! :rotfl: ).

I would let her keep up the themes she likes though. Our DD uses big versions of toys as Mum's and the smaller ones as their children /babies. She has a great time with them. In fact Nala we bought last year has now becoame Sarabi as Simba was missing his Mum.

Good Luck.

I will check out the Disney store when she is at nursery next week :)
I did notice the same about the princess dolls..the ones at the Disney store are so much better.

That is very true :rotfl: :rotfl:

It makes me laugh when she says that its her cuddle toys that need the stuff! :rotfl: very Inventive.

Ahh bless her :grouphug:

I agree with Angela, my youngest DD wore her Cinderella dress from the Disney Store last summer and it was much better quality than the ones they were selling at DLRP. If she still wants to wear it this summer and it doesn't fit her, I will buy her a new one here before we go.

I really like that idea!! :goodvibes

We also gave DD a set amount of money to spend (actually she earned it by good behaviour ;) ) and then suggested that she wait until the last day to decide what she liked best out of all the things she had seen. Of course, she forgot about everything she had previously seen and just wanted all the items she saw on the last day - but she was still very happy that "her" money had bought her souvenir. :teeth:

I got a Sleeping beauty dress yesterday from the Disney shop, only cost £20 which is cheaper that at DLP. Also got a princess card game for her to play at the Airport with. Now they are in my wardrobe ready for dlp.

Rae earns her pocket money by sorting herself out at bedtime. But we also give her pretty much free reign to hoover up the 2ps and 1ps that are left lying around the house.

Have you seen those change counting machines in the entrance to Sainsburys - they're great fun in themselves you can pour your money box in and it gives you a slip to take to the checkout to exchange for cash (takes about 7% fee). So we troop down there just before hols, change the 2ps into proper cash and then into currency.

Last time with the combination of this and pocket money she had about 35 Euros so could buy for herself a Simba and an Eeyore
