Oh no, it happened to me. We got the room with no balconey!

We just got back from 10 days at VWL. We had a great time but after we checked in we quickly noticed the absence of a balconey for studio 4533. OF course I heard about this room thanks to this board but never thought it would happen to me. Long story short they would have moved us for free but admitted the options were limited. We opted to wait for the following day and paid for one cleaning. The view from the original studio was actually fine and if we were only staying a night or two it would have been alright. Even though we didnt spend a great amount of time on the balconey we would have missed the fresh air and the sounds of the lake and breeze in the trees. We spent the second half of our vacation facing opposite the lake for the first time. It was a 2 bedroom and the view was really at least as good as most of the "lake view" rooms. We did the boat/bike plan, got to be the flag family and used the grill one night. Happy to answer any questions.

4533....I'm writing that down so when I check in to a studio for 10 days next Tuesday, if they assign me that number I can say NO THANKYOU right there at the desk!

Maybe it has something to do with being from Indiana (we're from Indiana). My parents got this studio on our October trip. It does feel enclosed, doesn't it? No breeze, no sounds, you are right!

When staying at the lodge in a studio, we are asking for a balcony from now on. We heard there is only one studio like this. I wonder why they even give it out as a studio? I know it's a lockoff, so why not just use it with the one bedroom only. I would think the Wilderness Lodge front desk would hear major complaints about this.

Can anyone verify that there is, in fact, only one studio at VWL without a balcony? I'm writing down that number, too. It doesn't really seem right to have one without a balcony, was there not room for a balcony? Very interesting.

I believe there is just that one studio without a balcony....and I'm glad the front desk was willing to work with you Geyser Gazer!!

There are several balconies that have the "hard wall"...you can't see out if you're sitting down. This is due to the unusual roof configuration.


Geyser Gazer....was the boat/bike plan still $199 for your entire stay?

When they gave me the room # it did seem familiar to me but I was hoping this was because it was a good one....not.

Yes, the family plan allowed for up to 5 for $211 with tax for entire stay. No dvc discount available. We used the water mice, pontoon boats, and bikes. I intended to take the sunfish sailboat out but never did. Will put that on my list of things to do along with hoop de do and bonfire at FW.

well if I could have I would have lent you one of ours from the conencting 1br 4535!

we were there 1/5 to 1/11 and WDWBill checked into 4531 on Friday the 10th. we did MK fireworks cruise from WL that night.

My pictures show the balcony for 4531, but don't show the window for 4533, which I noticed did not have a balcony.

I hope not! I just made a ressie for a studio at VWL for Mar. 26-30. The CM at MS told me it was the last studio left. It made me wonder because I remember how when we used to pick teams for kickball, the last person to get picked wasn't a very good player. Does this mean the last studio isn't a very good room?

Well howdy neighbor. We were in 4533 1/1, 4531 1/2-1/5, and hit the front side 1/5-1/10. We did the MK fireworks cruise a couple years ago and really enjoyed it.

Ask for this as soon as you check in. It is hard to get, the next available for us was 8 days after check in.
You can take up to 6 persons.
