Tell me-did I dream this? I thought I read today that gelato at BC Marketplace is now a snack on the DDP? Has anyone gotten this that can confirm?

On the dining board there is a sub-forum for the Disney Dining Plan. There is a thread updated all the time with confirmed snack credit options. It's pretty much anything under $4.00. So, you can use it for pasteries, doughnuts-including a box of 6 pre-packed ones, yougurt parfaits, bagels w/cream cheese, etc. You can use snack credits at the boardwalk bakery for a bunch of items too.

People have reported using snack credits for breakfast, thus getting three meals a day on the dining plan.

But some things under $4 are not included and gelato at BC Marketplace was one of them....at least the firsrt week of May when the snack choices were first expanded.

Good luck to you, Simba's Mom. I hope it has been included now. Where did you read of this? I have two gelato lovers who will be interested as well if we do the DDP again. :thumbsup2

Actually, I read it on that thread in the Disney Dining Plan sub-forum. I was looking for confirmation from someone who's gotten the gelato as a SC.

:thumbsup2
Yes someone did report back recently that they were able to purchase the gelato with their snack credits

I was at BCV 6/25-7/1/06 and when we asked to use snack credits for the gelato we were told that you can't use the snack credits. YOu can use them for some boxes of donuts or pastries (same at Boardwalk Bakery). We could use them on a box of mixed donuts, but not on cinnamon buns because they were over $4.

Also, at the OKW store the guy told me we could anything for $4.00 and under for a snack credit. I knew he was wrong (because of the info from the boards here). There was a problem when he wrang up the stuff. He kept trying, but I told him to take off the $4.00 item I had and voila! it worked. He said they were told anything $4.00 and under, but it's really $3.99 or less.

Thanks so much for the update. Sounds like I should bring my money for gelato in September just in case. Let's see-that's $3/day X 6 days, no-more, because that's assuming i Have gelato only once a day. Will $100 cover my gelato "fix"? Any other recent reports on whether or not gelato is a snack credit?
