Oh my GOODNESS - we ate a LOT!! (with pics)(days 5-7 up 7/9)

Lunch - I'm addicted to the fish and chips in the U.K. so I had to get them. DH wasn't hungry (and neither was I really, but I HAD to have them! LOL). I grabbed an order with a bottled water (love that you can do this, we were able to share a lot and save one for later). I got a crisp as my dessert, I think DH ate it. I also had a Bass Ale here, DH went into the pub to get himself a Guiness.
Fish and Chips, crisps, bottled water - 1 CS ($11.28 OOP)
Bass Ale - $7 OOP
Guiness - $7.50 OOP

I am also addicted to the Fish & Chips in the UK. Do you get yours at the Yorkshire Fish and Chips or the Rose and Crown Pub? I'm not sure if they are the same or different:confused:

What is crisps?? Is that all the little crispy batter that is on the fish that kinda falls off in the grease and then they plate it up for you? (That is what we can get from a fish place close to home) I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything!:rotfl:

I am enjoying your report! I especially love your drink descriptions and pics! :thumbsup2

loving your reveiws!!! This will be our first DDP experience, so I'm trying to soak up all the info I can!:lmao:

I've had them from both places, they're the same, but the Rose and Crown is a bigger (meal size) portion. The Yorkshire stand is 2 pieces and some fries, it's perfect for lunch and SO SO yummy. I had them at R&C a few years ago and they were just as good and a huge portion.

Crisps are little cookie type things, I didn't like them!!

We had an early dinner (for us) tonight because we were meeting my cousin and her family. Our normal had been to snack for breakfast and CS for lunch, but with the early dinner (5:30) we knew we weren't going to want to eat much for lunch, so we had a bigger breakfast.
We headed to the Riverside Mill and took a look around. With a CS breakfast you get 2 drinks so I decided on the Mickey waffle with bacon, sausage and fruit topping, a coffee and a bottle of water.

The waffle and fruit were both very fresh and yummy and filling. I loved it.

DH went with the Bounty Platter which was eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes and a mini Mickey waffle, and he got an apple juice and bottle of water.

There was a LOT of food on his plate!!! He liked everything and ate it all. All in all, it was a good breakfast and PLENTY of food to last us most of the day. We took the water bottles in our bag to AK (skipped the mugs today)

2 full breakfasts with 4 (total) drinks - 2 CS ($14.28 + the coffee, juice and water without DDP)

We toured most of AK and were getting hungry so we decided to split a CS lunch. We headed over to the Flame Tree BBQ and decided on the Beef Sandwich Meal with the Key Lime Pie and a diet coke.

77898IMG_2178_Medium_.JPG

The sandwich was a good size, perfect for us since we didn't want to each too much. It was really tasty, too. We got a side of BBQ beans with it, they were yummy!! I'm not a Key Lime Pie fan so DH ate that and said it was good, not great.

Up next - dinner at 'Ohana!!

We had a 5:30 ADR with my cousin, her DH and 2 DSs for dinner. We met them in front of the restaurant at about 5:15 and checked in. We were seated shortly thereafter.
(I don't have the best pics from here because we were so busy comparing stories from our trips to that point, that I forgot to take them!!)

Our 2 "cousins" came over and introduced themselves right away and took our non-alcoholic drink orders. Within a few minutes we had the wontons and salad. My cousin and her DH like HOT food so they asked one of the servers for some hotter sauce and he brought it over right away.

77898IMG_2183_Medium_.JPG

We all LOVED the wontons and the dressing on the salad was really good.

We barely had a chance to swallow the first course when our cousins were back with the next round of food - the chicken wings and shrimp.

77898IMG_2182_Medium_.JPG

(that bug looking thing is NOT a bug...it was part of the garnish!!)

77898IMG_2184_Medium_.JPG

OMG - the wings were AWESOME. They were so good...cooked perfectly...spiced perfectly. YUM!!

The shrimp was very good, not the best I've ever had, but still yummy.

Again, we barely took a bite and our servers were back with the next course. It was at this point that DH and I finally asked them for drinks from the bar (they were never offered to us). DH got a Bud Light and I got a Lapu Lapu!! I was really excited to try it.

77898IMG_2187_Medium_.JPG

It was STRONG. Good, but not what I expected, and so not big enough for the price. It's neat to drink out of the pineapple, but I'd rather pay less and have the same drink in a glass!!

I didn't take any pictures of the meat, but there was plenty of it. The steak and pork were fantastic...very tender, cooked perfectly, and very tasty. The turkey was good, a little dry, but still tasty. I didn't try the sausage, but everyone who did said it was a little weird.

And then there was the potatoes. O. M. G. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I could have eaten about 25751646313 plates of them by myself. We scarfed down the first plate and then had to spend the next 10 minutes trying to flag down a server to get more. They were TOTALLY worth waiting for. YUM-O!!

Oh, and there were vegetables. They weren't good.

DH and I were excited for dessert even though we were stuffed. Believe it or not, NEITHER of us had ever tried bread pudding. It was divine. So good. In fact, we got 2 plates of that...one large serving and then another small one.

77898IMG_2188_Medium_.JPG

this is the smaller plate

This stuff was so good that we had to physically remove my cousin from the table because she was threatening to DRINK the Bananas Foster sauce.

Overall we REALLY liked 'Ohana. The food was fab for the most part.

Now for the bad - the service. We had the first three courses on the table within about 10 minutes of sitting down, then we had to wait and wait and wait for more potatoes...and DH and I had to seek them out to order drinks from the bar. The table was SO crowded because they couldn't clear plates because we were still eating because everything came out so fast!! Also, when we checked in we told the woman at the podium that it was DC's and her DH's 10th wedding anniversary (it was actually that day) and it wasn't even acknowledged....even by the singer who was acknowledging birthdays and anniversaries.
I would still definitely go back though...the food was worth it.

We headed to MK for Spectro and then got ice cream during Wishes. We split a chocolate and vanilla twist and a bottle of water from Mrs. Pott's Cupboard - 2 snacks, it was good. Would have been about $4 OOP.

I headed to DTD in the morning to do some shopping and DH met me around noon for lunch. We headed over to Wolfgang Puck's Express.

I got the macaroni and cheese, creme brule and a diet coke.

77898IMG_2202_Medium_.JPG

I wasn't in love with this. I LOVE mac and cheese and it just wasn't fantastic. First of all, we waited FOREVER for our food and then mine was cold so I had to bring it back in and get more, and it still wasn't that hot. It tasted fine, I just wasn't blown away. The creme brule was very good.

DH had the lasagna, a cookie and an iced tea.

77898IMG_2201_Medium_.JPG

(there's no cookie in the pic because it took so long to get our food that DH ate it first)

He really liked the lasagna. It was hot and fresh and tasty. The cookie was good, too!!

I've been to WPE before and really liked it, and didn't have a problem with service. I'm hoping this was just an off day so I'd go again, but would try something else.

Dinner was the dinner we had been waiting for ALL WEEK - Le Cellier!!! We didn't have any plans for the afternoon so we headed to Epcot at about 5:30 to walk around and have some cocktails. We headed to the Rose and Crown - DH for a Guiness and me for a Black & Tan. MAN this place ain't cheap...but it's just about the best Guiness either of us have ever had.
2 pints - $15.98 OOP - now multiply that by 3, because that's how many times we went back to the bar for the same order over the course of the night. Ouch. But YUM.

We checked in a little before our ADR (I think it was for 7) and were seated fairly quickly. We were so excited to eat here, and it did NOT disappoint. First we had bread -

77898IMG_2217_Medium_.JPG

I could have eaten about 264831643 pretzel bread sticks. YUM-O. I ate both of them. I did give DH a bite, but that was it. He tried the multi grain one and liked it, and the sourdough was good, too. He's not as much as a bread fan as I am.

I got a the cheese soup, the maple filet (sauce on the side), the creme brule duo and a glass of Cabernet.

77898IMG_2227_Medium_.JPG

I had tried the soup at the F&W festival a few years ago and have been dreaming about it ever since, LOL. It's divine. I mean, what's better than cheese soup other than cheese soup made with BEER? Triple YUM-O. The filet was also fantastic...among the best I've ever had. I'm glad I got the sauce on the side because it was pretty sweet and I didn't love it. The creme brule was excellent, probably the best I've ever had.

DH went with the Caesar salad, mushroom filet, chocolate mousse and a Moosehead Pale Ale.

77898IMG_2226_Medium_.JPG

He also loved everything. The salad was very fresh, and I loved the cheesy crouton thingy. I love cheesy anything, though!! He really loved his filet, said it was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms with it were great. I took his word for it, I don't do mushrooms. I tried a taste of the mousse and it was good, but VERY rich, which I don't love. DH really enjoyed it, though!!

We also got a side of creamed spinach.

77898IMG_2223_Medium_.JPG

DH didn't like it because it was TOO cheesy, but since that's not part of my vocabulary I LOVED it. It was very tasty with a yummy crusty cheese top. I ate almost all of it!!!

Overall we absolutely LOVED Le Cellier and will definitely go back on our next trip!!!

2 dinners - 2 TS + $20.22 OOP for the drinks and spinach (would have been about $76.94 + the drinks and spinach OOP without the DDP)

We still had 2 snack credits left on our last morning, so we used them to each get a cinnamon bun from the Riverside Mill after we checked our luggage with our airline. I don't have any pics because I have no idea where the camera was at this point, but they were BIG and YUMMY. Well worth the snack credits!! (would have been about $5 OOP)

I hope you all enjoyed my dining report. We always like to try new things so we might not repeat anything on our next trip, but that's only because we want to go somewhere new. We would definitely go back to all the places we ate!!

Great report! Thanks so much for taking the time to type it out and show your pics! :thumbsup2

Fabulous report!
I'm so glad to hear your review of Le Cellier - seems people either love it or hate it. It is my most anticipated ADR for September.

I am so glad to read another positive review of Le Cellier - it's made me even more excited for our trip :)

great reviews and pictures, I can't wait to go to ohana!

great reviews!
I totally agree with the lacking service at O'Hana. In june we were there with a party of 23...and our service was terrible. I only got one little tiny piece of steak and even though we asked for more, they never came back with it..we were totally rushed and we were there to celebrate my friends' wedding....the singer acknowledged them as celebrating a special ocassion and gave them "magic" cupcakes..but she creeped us out. sorry OT a bit.
I am kind of sad i cancelled our ADR to LeCelleir now..oh well..always next time!

Great job! It's so funny that you ate at nearly every place I have ADRs for in August...AND we're staying at POR too! lol

Thanks for the pics and the reviews - I see that you had an adr for 'Ohana then went to see Spectro - how did that work out? We have 5:40 adr's for 'Ohana in Sept and Spectro is 8 that night, so I was trying to see if we could do both - :confused3
