Oh my goodness, it is finally happening...

After 36 1/2 years on this planet, I am finally going to Disneyworld! Unfortunately it is not for another 18 months, but my cousins and I decided today that we are going in January 2007! I am so excited! This is one of my dreams!!! The three of us are huge Disney fans and we go to Disneyland at least once a year, but two of us have never been to WDW! We have been talking about going forever, but made it offical today! I am so freaking excited!

For the past month or so I have been checking out the DIS boards and now I can really get into all the posts and ask questions etc! I LOVE to plan vacations so this is going to be so much fun for me!

We've already decided on the Port Orleans French Quarter and the plan is to go for 8 nights / 9 days!

Any newbie advice would be great!

No advice, really...just keep coming to these boards...I have gotten such great advice and tips here!

I agree...planning is so much fun. I always try to have a WDW trip in the planning stages...it makes me happy!

... back to topic. I think POFQ would be a great choice. Since you are planning 18 months ahead, i would sugest you look for pics/information on all resorts on property.
