I took Kendra's post to mean - that the WEBSITE did great work - debunking cults....not that scientology does great work.

When was the last time you saw scientologists feeding hungry people?
I mean besides Oprah.

You know what - after I clicked, I think I figured that out. Sorry Kendra.... my bad.

There was an organization that was dedicated to all Cults but truly focused on helping members get out of Scientology. It was called:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cult_Awareness_Network

Anyways - Scientology ran this Cult Awareness company out of business (sued them left and right, if Im not mistaken, until they finally ended up bankrupt) THEEEEEN proceeded to purchase the name, the logo, the phone numbers of this Cult Awareness group - never told anyone they *were* now Scientology - and then would be able to figure out "who was disobeying L Ron"

Crazy stuff.

Scary stuff.
I think that is the most frightening thing about this cult. That they pretend to be something else.
True story - I am driving my DS10 and his best friend to a party last week.
I am asking his friend how the family is doing etc.
He says they just found out his little brother is allergic to food dye.
So I ask him innocently "how did your parents find that out?"
He says - "Well Mom took him to the kiropractor (sp?) [yes - back specialty] and the kiropractor used this electronic metor and just waved it over him - and it was really cool, and the metor just said he was allergic to food dye!"

Ok -I know that is sad. But this kids mother is a very sweet and gulible person, who is just not educated enough to realize that kiropractors are not even medical doctors. The whole thing reaked of scientology to me. Where is the post someone put on here about how scientologists recruit money hungry kiropractors, podiatrists etc (people who wish they were doctors but couldn't make the cut) and show them ways to "make more money"
I know I'll get flamed for this but Ihave always thought that kiropractors were snake-oil salesmen anyway.

My brother, a chiropractor, naturopath and a Catholic, does a lot of work with allergies in kids a is extremely successful in his approach. Chiropractors don't just deal with the back but work on the entire body as a system. There is a lot more to it than waving an electronic meter and this part was probably left out by the ten year old.

No flaming here, but I think the ten year old and probably even the mother didn't understand the entire process.

You do realize that chiropractors have a minimum of six university years of education don't you?

No flame from me, however....

A very good friend of mine is a Chiropractor. I was friends with her allllll through DC school, etc. She was truly truly dedicated to what she did, and the benefits of Chiropractic "stuff".

She spent just as many hours in school, as an MD. In fact she spent MORE time with cadavers and pathology cuz Chiro's dont learn about any prescription, meds, etc - hence more time dedicated to the body itself.

When she got out of school, she had hoardes of school bills, and the last time I spoke with her, she was still very behind and didnt have a whole lot of money - even though she had been working for over 2 years. BUT she loved what she did - and really believed in it.

Im sure there are swindlers out there, but I also know that many of them truly beleive in what they do. On this note - I cant imagine Lynne (my g/f) waving an electrical rod over someone and being able to tell theyre allergic to food dye. :sad2:

I admittedly don't know anything about chiropractors or their training (I didn't even know how to spell it!) - I just remember a big 20/20 piece on how so many of them were frauds. My brother and a good friend who are MD's have no respect for them. I gotta say I think most dentists are frauds too just trying to get my money. Yes there is a need for dentists, but they try to sell you alot of stuff you don't need.

Many doctors don't have any respect for them but I think the majority now do. Many doctors have no respect for naturopaths either. I think it just depends on what information you have been fed in medical school.

Personally, I think that there is a place for all of the various professions and they should learn to work together for the benefit of the patient and not themselves.

Anyway, back to Suri talk!!!

I know that this thread has become about a Suri sighting but, how many of us really think that TomKat will actually get married?? I believe that this will never happen, what are the thoughts of you guys???

BTW, have been lurking as well.

You know what...we used to have a baby that looked just like that. Her name was BABY BORN!!!! Doesn't this look like that doll?????

Just a silly observation :teeth:

I'd be surprised if they really do get married. If they get married in a scientology (IF, ha ha I made a funny!) then it isn't recognized by the Catholic church so when he boots her at almost 10 years she could get married again in a church. (Just like Nicole did)

:cool1: I bet that Tommy boy has all his people working overtime trying to get their hands on a baby. This was the best they could do for now. One of the crazies walked in to the Scientology center with a toddler. Tommy threw some money at the parents, re dressed it as a smaller baby and handed it to Katie to walk outside with.
Problem solved!! for now!

I've been lurking on this thread too... very interesting!
popcorn::
Oh yeah, and as for that "first Suri picture"- that three month old could eat my four month old for lunch! (and DD is a big girl!) That pic has gotta be a fake! Can't wait to see how all of this develops...

HEY GUYS: Just wanted to jump in here and remind everyone that tonight is the night for "TRAPPED IN A CLOSET" the South Park spoof on Scientology and I believe there will be an appearance by Tommy and Johnny IF I am not mistaken...TOMMY for sure!! COMEDY CENTRAL Channel @ 10pm!!!

:thumbsup2

I leave for a few hours, and now you all have a PICTURE!! :Pinkbounc Oh, thats right, its not a "REAL" baby! I must go out and Buy Cabbage Patch Suri--new to store shelves by Christmas! :thumbsup2

Maybe Katie came to her senses and decided to make an escape from Tom and the other whack-o's! Of course, Tom and her handler aren't w/her b/c it is an escape attempt. And, in order to disguise Suri, she had to shave her head. If Suri had a "head of dark hair", then she'd be recognizable, right!? :rotfl2:

Just checking in, because I just can't give up the Suri watch (or Challenge!). Now, if only I could convince my husband that we need to go to Colorado to stake out Tom's ranch......

Got a friend hooked on Suri-watch, now, too! How long till MI3 hits DVD?

(Oh, and I think Katie's just completely in over her head & can't figure out how to get out. Call your parents, Katie!!)

Yeah - the "Passion of the Suri" is dying down.

Maybe some of our fellow Suri-Challengers have been attacked at local mall kiosks????

Well, you all know don't you that Tom has been following this thread closely, right?! So he quickly snagged a doll and had Katie run outside so a pic could be snapped. Of course we Dis'ers aren't that dumb Tom!!
