Oh, I'm gonna vommit.

So I turn on the ol' computer this morning and what is one of the top articles on my homepage?

"Jenny McCarthy writes of how her son was cured of autism in her new book"

How stupid do they all think we are???????????????????

It is absolutely SHAMELESS that they are preying on the hopes of desparate parents everywhere that for the love of a child will be willing to latch on to any kind of hope. That and JLo's "pregnancy". They know how to go after the most desparate people don't they? "If you are a Scientologist, we can cure you of infertility AND cure autism." These people are all getting scholarships to hell.

It is also shameless that the media is so stupid that they son't see this as the cult recruiting tactic that it is and they actually publish the crap.

I watched Jenny on Oprah and she never said her son was "cured." She said he was in "recovery." She likened it to cancer, after you have the therapy you are in remission, but you keep running test, you keep going to the Dr because there is chance that the cancer may come back.

Also watching the interview it seemed to me that Jenny is a Christian. She constantly referred to God and to Arch Angel Michael.

I haven't read about any connection between her and scientology. I also highly doubt that Oprah is a scientologist. She seems rooted in her faith in God, she talks about it all the time.

I read in People magazine last week that Katie and Suri were seen playing at a park in Germany. Witnesses reported that Katie was chasing Suri and Suri was calling "Come on Mommy." Now, I have a 14-month old nephew, and he most certainly is not speaking in complete sentences. All he does is babble. I don't think there are too many 14-month olds who can speak in complete sentences. Unless the Kool-Aid makes them geniuses. :rotfl:

My 14 month old can say, "I Want Mommy!" and "That's Mine!" She has been pairing two words together for awhile. "Bye Bye Dad!" "Hi mom!" "All Done." Speech is one of those things that shouldn't be used for comparison as all children speak on different levels and different times.

Does she? I hear her talk about "spirituallity" and "her spirit" all the time. I also hear her talk about a higher power and "whomever your higher power is" all the time. I also hear her talk ALOT about empowering yourself and general self help stuff, but never any seeking help from God or Jesus references. Alot of taking control references, but no giving all control to God references. I admit I am not a daily watcher......but I have never heard her make directly Christian references. Like I said, I don't even think she knows she is a scientologist. They have a weird way of luring people in, like how Tom said when he married Katie, that you can be Catholic AND Scientologist. (which speaking as a Catholic, that is SSSSOOOOOOO not true) like I think she might be into their self-help stuff, but not think of it as her religion.

It's been a while since this thread was bumped... here's Tom looking even shorter than usual.

Seinfeld Sez Scientology Helped Him Control Audiences

Who are these people who credit the controversial religion Scientology for changing their lives for the better? One of them is tv's Jerry Seinfeld who told the typically worthless Parade magazine that the church helped him communicate early in his career so that he could control his audiences.

I last really studied, oh, it’s almost 30 years ago. But what I did do, I really liked, in terms of it’s very...it was interesting. Believe it or not...it’s extremely intellectual and clinical in its approach to problem-solving, which really appealed to me. I actually got to it from my auto mechanics teacher in high school, who was into it, and he was telling me about it. In my early years of stand-up, it was very helpful. I took a couple of courses. One of them was in communication, and I learned some things about communication that really got my act going.

It was just things about understanding the communications cycle... Even the volume at which I’m speaking now is the right volume for where you’re sitting. I’m almost performing, in a way.”

You would just understand that there’s this kind of voice, and then there’s this kind of voice, and then there’s this kind of voice. I wasn’t a natural performer at all, so I learned. I was always a pretty good writer in the beginning, but I really had to learn how to perform. Just a little thing like that, understanding that really helped me on stage to understand how you have to invade the space of the audience a little bit. I learned that early on. It was a very helpful thing to learn. You have to invade them just a little bit. Not too much, because then it’s obnoxious. But you can’t be short of them either, or you won’t control them.

The comedian doesn't seem to be joking with Parade, but you never know. Seinfeld, who is Jewish, stars in the upcoming "Bee Movie" and said that Scientology didn't get him so much with their spirituality as much as he was attracted by their gadgets.

"They have a lot of very good technology," he told the old timey magazine that's delivered free in most Sunday newspapers. "That’s what really appealed to me about it. It’s not faith-based. It’s all technology. And I’m obsessed with technology."

One thing that made Seinfeld's tv show so good was they were never afraid of poking fun at anyone. After the jump, Seinfeld chides Scientology in their third season.

It's funny because I was going to post on this thread today! I had just read one of the magazines (it had an article about the 1st anniversary coming up, and how happy Katie is), and I noticed that there were no face-on pics of Tom/Suri together. I also noticed something else: there was a picture of Michelle Williams carrying her daughter & I looked at the pic & thought "wow...you can tell Heath Ledger is her daddy!". When I look at Suri, I don't see Tom AT ALL. I see Josh Hartnett. Especially in the eyes.

I also read an article in today's paper by a lawyer-turned-columnist. He was talking about how 30 years ago another reporter was "hungry" and did a series on Scientology. This was before any really big stars claimed it as their religion. He called it a cult & compared it to other cults. The lawyer was involved because Scientology sued the reporter & paper 4 times in a very short period of time. There was scary stuff...someone in Scientology intercepted a letter (in the mail) that was going from Toronto to Florida. And, documents went missing. Both at the paper & the law firm. Scientologist employees were found to be the ones doing it!

Anyway, it was really interesting with alot of conspiracy-type stuff.

(PS I typed this before CathrynRose's new response...so I'll come back after I read it!)

Wow! I don't know how you find this stuff!

The scariest thing is that now Scientology has access to people that are susceptible to cults! Want to get your kid out of a cult? Call us & we'll hook you right up with a BETTER one! One they'll NEVER get out of. And if they try, we'll sue you! Allegedly...

Here's a link to the newspaper article I was talking about:

Interesting.

Theyre a bunch of alleged FREAKS!

And - side note: Thanks to you I stayed up TOOOOO late watching YouTube clips alll about Scientology.

YouTube search - Scientology, Scientologist, $cientology. ;)

I found some good stuff though.

if I only was as interested in my job, or the stock market as much -

So, Katie has been training & she's going to be running the NY Marathon? :confused3

What I really hope is that she's been training so she can run FAR away from Tom.

BTW, they said her family would be in NY to watch as well as Tom.

I see them on lots of mag covers lately about the separate beds (old news) & fighting. Honeymoon over already? lol

Maybe she'll be running with a jog stroller with Suri in it and a getaway car at the edge of town.

Tommie is looking chunkier and shorter than ever in the photos of the two of them.

And did you see that Jennifer Lopez has been hiding her pregnancy? Think they found her a Scientology baby to pass off as her and Marc's?

She's hiding it because they haven't found a baby YET....and doesn't want to having the timeline problems that TomKat had. ;) She learned what not to do wrong. Once they have a baby secure, her pregnancy timeline will fall right into place.

NO!!!! I remember years ago when Will Smith said that he would have nothing to do with scientology, that his grandmother would roll over in her grave if he did (or something like that).

Now, this from perezhilton.com

“I’ve studied Buddhism and Hinduism, and I’ve studied Scientology through Tom [Cruise]. Ninety-eight percent of the principles [in Scientology] are identical to the principles of the Bible. . . . I don’t think that because the word someone uses for spirit is ‘thetan’ that the definition becomes any different.”

- Will Smith tells the new issue of Men’s Vogue

He needs some serious intervention. Anyone able to get to him?:rotfl:
