I never got the hype over BP & JA other then that they were a "pretty" couple. His previous ex-fiancee, Gwyneth Paltrow, was so down to earth compared to JA.

Once on Oprah, she asked BP if he had more advantages growing up because of his looks. He said, he noticed this when he was young & told his mom how unfair it was. She told him that with all those advantages & opportunities he will have over others, comes responsibility to do the right thing.

He didn't seen to do much while he was with JA being pretty. But since being with AJ & hanging with his political activist friend, George Clooney (during the filming of Ocean's Eleven & Twelve,) Brad's certainly grown up & doing what his mom taught him.

The CNN news crawl announced tonight that BP & AJ each will give $1 million to humanitarian charities. Not sure if it's related to Hurricane Katrina, I couldn't figure the crawl properly to figure out if the stories were related. But Brad was just down in New Orleans a few weeks ago, trying to promote more help & rebuilding there.

Let's see:
The Jolie-Pitt's when hounded by the media, deliberately brought them right down to ravaged parts of Africa that really needed publicity and public awareness hile awaiting the birth of Shiloh.

After Shiloh was born they donated the $5 Mil to various baby charities who would have died without the money.

About a couple of weeks after that, AJ personally called Anderson Cooper to arrange her first interview after the birth- on the condition he also educated the world about the slaughters, rapes & murders going on in parts of war-torn Africa - something AC already knows much about & is very sensitive to.

The Jolie-Pitts come back to the U.S.& Brad's helping down in LA.

What has Tom Cruise done besides promote Scientology & his own movies? Oh, yes, he did "rescue" that man or couple in Los Angeles in the car accident. But as it didn't seem to be a two car crash, otherwise both parties would have needed help. I wonder how much of an "accident" it really was.

We all eagerly awaited the pics of Suri. Seems like Tom gave the pics to Vanity Fair. When asked by Larry King, Jane the editor said, with a greedy grin, it will probably be their best selling issue. Period. I waited for her to say the PROFITS would be going somewhere special. Nada.

Gee, Tommy, if you fired your sister as your publicity agent & need another one and a new image, you could try doing any ONE thing the Jolie-Pitts have done in the last year.

But then again, they seem to be working more from conscience & integrity than using a publicist for spin & self-promotion. In fact the many times that they've been publicized, they actually used that media hunger to promote awareness to OTHER PEOPLE'S causes.

I don't get why people don't like Angelina. What is NOT to like. (Ok, she had an affair with a married man, a sin, for sure, but sometimes it happens for a reason)

She would rather be in the slums of Africa, feeding those starving babies, than laying poolside in Beverly Hills. Other than Paul Newman, I don't know any other celebrity so involved in 3rd world charity. She takes her men with her. Billy Bob dropped her. He would rather pursue HIS career, than waste time in Africa. Brad, jumped right on board. She has changed HIS life, and now we have TWO very rich people helping the poor.

Don't get me wrong. I love Jennifer Aniston and thought her and Brad were a great couple. But, what would Brad being doing now if he were still with Jennifer?

Actually, I don't dislike Angelina, but I don't like her much either. I certainly admire her for being a good mother and for her charitable works. But her over-the-top sexual/drug antics early in her career (which IMO she deliberately played up for media attention) bother me as much as her affairs with married men. I have come to admire her, but I can't forget her overtly-sexual behavior with her brother at an award show, or her TMI interviews about her relationship with Billy Bob.

And, actually, I dislike Brad more than Angelina, simply because he reminds me of men I've known who can't fully commit. Oh, I know he was married and that he's adopted A's kids. But he left his fiancee (Gweneth) right before their wedding, and he left his wife right as they were suppopsed to start a family. He strikes me as the kind of guy who just can't take the "next step" in a relationship...he'll go a bit further in each relationship than the one before, but just can't go all the way into committment with one woman.

I know people speculate that Angelina will leave him, but I really do think that if they get married, in the end it will be Brad that ends up leaving. I also don't like how the media ooshes over how "romantic" their relationship is when I find how they got together terribly unromantic.

But back on topic, A/B at least have a real relationship, not like "Tomcat" I'm loving this thread! Dude, Suri was NOT 3 1/2 months old in those VF pics!

Don't get me wrong. I love Jennifer Aniston and thought her and Brad were a great couple. But, what would Brad being doing now if he were still with Jennifer?

The only thing about Brad jumping on board is that he appears to have done that with all of the woman in his life, right down to changing his appearance. I saw an article about it and they had pics of him with each of the woman and he had the same hair color, with the same basic style and same style clothing as them. And he would also take up their causes as well.

Not sure I agree with this bit. Of course I have very limited info as I'm not really a Brad watcher. But I saw an old interview with Gwyneth who said SHE has some personal problems, issues, insecurities, etc. that would have made it hard for any man to have been in a relationship with her back then. She practically admitted she was the reason they broke up, (whether Brad initiated the final break.) She even said she was in therapy about her stuff afterwards.

As for BP & JA in the process of starting a family. As far as the timeline that this speculation started was when BP was on Primetime Live, promoting Ocean's Twelve with the whole cast. Diane Sawyer had asked everyone where they saw themselves in 5 years. When it was Brad's turn, he was scratching his chin and had a funny expression. He said, "Dare I say it? Okay, I see myself having children & a family in my life."

Naturally, as he was still "happily" married (at least in the eyes of the world & maybe Jennifer ) everyone assumed he was talking about Jennifer. BUT, while he was promoting Ocean's Twelve, he had already been filming Mr & Mrs. Smith with Angelina. Films are usually shot a year or more in advance of their opening.

I'm not saying how he left JA was right or that Angelina was innocent in all this. But I think the family he was talking about was NOT with JA. If you look at ALL the films she was filming during & after that time, (it was right after Friends ended,) her own professional goal was to get her film career under way, not to take time off to start a family. Best friend, Courtney Cox Arquette definitely took time to have a family.

HE was in Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Pitt and Jolie. Rumour has it that he met up with Jennifer there for the first time AND rumor has it that HE was the one who gave Jen the heads up about Brad and Angie getting a bit friendly on the set. I don't remember where I read that but I know I definitley read it somewhere, so I was really surprised when they made an issue about the fact that Vince and Jen met for the first time on their movie set. I thought they had already chit chatted. So maybe Vince had ulterior motives...he had the hots for Jen and needed them to break up?

ok, I'll my little bit about AJ/BP. I used to not like either of them. I always though AJ was a bit of a freak. However, that changed the first time I saw pictures of her with Maddox. I think she is an excellent mother and a great humanitarian. She's a much better person than I could ever be.

And now by association, I like BP. I don't really care if they ever get married or plan on taking bets to see when they'll break up. I don't care if they are "homewreckers". There were never any children involved in their break-ups. They are doing good things. They have "saved" two children from quite possibly horrible lives. And they will probably adopt more. Not to mention how many lives they are helping.

I can't even comprehend going into an orphanage in one of those countries and picking out one child. Leaving the rest behind. It would simply break my heart. I am not that strong. Kudos to them for all they do.
