Just got back from a weekend at my parents' lake house. Guess what book I found on their bookshelf? Dianetics! WTH? My aunt had given it to them when it got popular about 1987 or so. It titles itself as a self-help book and many people have lent their name to it saying it has helped them. Most say they read it through 2 or 3 times in one sitting. I couldn't gt much past page one. Maybe because I know what rubbish it is? Anyway, if anyone wants a unused, slightly dusty copy, let me know, and I will send in a team to deprogam you!

You know, I was thinking about this a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure we had a copy of "Dianetics" on our bookshelf when I was a kid. Now, my mom and dad were Baptist Missionaries...what they were doing with a copy of "Dianetics" I will never understand. Probably my dad bought this, thinking it was a fiction book...he was an avid reader...or maybe someone told him about Scientology...I'll never know (Dad passed away last year). I still think it is kinda odd it was there!!!! My mom probably never even noticed it.

I think I'll go thru the boxes of books next time I go visit mom. Wonder if it made it back to the states......

Thought I'd post that my girlfriend called with a sighting: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are currently at the Redskins game in Washington. No Suri in site - either she's gone on a beer run or her big siblings are with her fighting over who gets to feed her!

I had a copy of Dianetics. My sophomore high school teacher gave us extra credit if we bought a copy. So I bought one. Never read it.

I arrived late to class one day to see all the kids with their heads on the desks and he was leading them through some sort of meditation type thing. He was one fry short of a combo meal.

In today's Washington Post Style section, there is an article about how Tom, Katie, and his children - is it Connor and Bella? - were all at the game, but no mention of Suri. Also, the entire Cruise Clan spent the last few days at Dan Snyder's Potomac home, and on Sunday they all (including Suri) went to Six Flags. Dan Snyder and Tom Cruise apparently led all the kids in doing the Electric Slide - which I would dearly love to see photos of.

Such amazing family moments they've shared . . . . makes me want to the kool aid.
