ok so here I am, we're narrowing it down.

We want to get married in Disney
We've narrowd it down to an intimate delux package.

I haven't booked it yet in part because I need ideas/suggestions etc from you guys.
This is a 2nd marriage for us both. He's already been married in a rose garden/gazebo. Is it tacky to get "remarried" there? Is that the prettiest setting? Which of the other out door locations do you recommend? Which hotel should I pick to stay at? Which is the most econmical? How do i save money with out skimping too much?

She told me that they don't do receptions past a cake/champagne etc unles we really want it. What exactly do you do then? Go out to dinner? Do you go out in your wedding dress ? Do you go out in your normal clothes?

What tips do I need? What do you wish you'd ahve known. Can you give me more photographer ideas, suggestions etc ?

Thanks!

We got married at Sunset Point behind the Poly it was beautiful! We stayed at POFQ it was very pretty and quiet. As for photos get Randy Chapman he is wonderful! If you want a video I would suggest STVS Video, we didn't even notice Stan was there, he took the video w/o getting in anyones way. We had dinner at 1900 Fare and I wore my dress.

We got married at Sea Breeze Point on the Boardwalk. It was perfect. We stayed at the Boardwalk which was very expensive (Garden Suite) but worth it for all the space and romance factor. We went to dinner after at the Yachtsman Steakhouse over at the Yacht Club. Dinner was wonderful and yes I wore my dress. I didn't want to get out of it :lol

we're having an intimate wedding at the wilderness lodge with a dinner reception at whispering cannon, we wanted to go somewhere fun for dinner. the onle guests will be my parents and my 2 sisters who will be my brides maids and our 2 1/2 year old son(dylan will be 3 when we get married), no one from future hubbies side is coming(long story, but it's my wedding! if i want it in disney, i'm having it in disney!)

i would say if you have a certain location for your wedding go with it. who cares if your df got married similar to that, he's marrying you not his ex. have fun and good luck!!!!

Hi melissa6631, I don't really hang out here much anymore, but I just wandered by and thought I might try a little help...

First of all, you should have gotten a slew of ideas from the planner that FW supllied you, if not, you can request another.....If they aren't going to make thiis the most magical time of your life, while being sensative to assorted priors...(I am sorry, a wedding is too important to not have a liason who doesn't care enough about you...)

Having ranted that, I would turn it around and ask you if you have any specific, strong Disney spots or memories. For example if your first Disney trip was to the Board Walk, there are some nice open air gazeebo's that I have seen small weddings in. How about a wedding on the beach at the Y/B club? I think each Disney owned resort has a themed romantic spot; I am not sure where they all are. but if you had your first kiss at the Poly, you could be married there, and have your friends to dinner at Ohanna's (Had to throw that one in) You might even arrang a view of Wishes for your table.....Maybe the Louau instead???

So again, my question, Is there one thing that comes to mind about your (you and your DF) relationship with Disney that is uniquely yours? That is a starting point, once you get that the rest will flow.....

August of 2003 my DF and I took our first "vacation". Between us we have 5 kids and this was our first real alone time.

We stayed off site at the Marriot Grande Vista.

We did, however, find Ohanas. What a lovely lovely little place!

Maybe I should find something there?

We coudl go there after the wedding-- and have dinner. I wonder if the luau would be too expensive?

What is the price difference between intimate and custom? I can probably invite 20 people. and when do they do a final count? Like, if I invite 20 and only 13 come?

I have found that most of the people you invite will come (OK, you know the ones who will and won't before you send the invites. I am not sure what the difference between the different wedding plans are, but there should be a planner that you were assigned from Fairy Tale Weddings that can explain the difference. From what I remember, there was not a big difference in pricing between the Custom and the other plans, but the other plans were good starting points to be modified in the custom plan.

You will also get room discount rates for your guests in hotel rooms. This is usually a great rate.....

If you haven't yet contacted FW (Fairytale Weddings), Here is the phone number from a few years ago...
(407) 828-3400
Also, they had a website...
www.disneyweddings.com

I hope this helps.....

My vote is for Sunset Pointe. We got married there in July and loved it. It is such a romantic setting. It was my first marriage and my DH's 2nd, so we wanted something unique. Sunset Pointe is beautiful!

Do you have photos of the wedding ?

Did you get married in the day time or night time?

How detailed did you get? A lot of custom changes? I'm just curious what price range this is going to fall in to. they give me a starting base but I need to find a bit more out I guess
