I have an HP Pavilion. Its about a year old. Today my dvd drive started ejecting for no reason. now it wont stay closed. I installed the new updates form Windows, thought maybe that was the problem so I did a system restore point to yesterday and thought that would help. NOTHING its still doing it!

Can anyone help me at all?????

PLEEEAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

thank you :)

Boy, you're way ahead of me! DH, the computer analyst, is out on the town with the boys but I will ask him when he gets home if you don't have an answer by then. The bars close in 2 hours:D

Run your antivirus first and make sure it's not a virus or trojan horse.. certain virii will make drive bays open without reason.

If not trying uninstalling the drive including the driver, then restart and let windows redetect the drive and go from there

you can uninstall it through the device manager (right click my

computer properties (hardware if xp or 2000) device manager)

then go to the DVD/CDROM drives and open the + if it is not

open... then click on the drive that is yours then properties and

then delete
