Looks like my dh might have to go the The Maritimes and work this weekend if Earl spills some of his wrath there. At least when he's around here he can come home at night- or in the morning or whenever. He'll be up there and I won't have a clue what's going on.

It's a beautiful sunny Cape Cod day right now but we are under a hurricane watch. We have done what we can do to prepare and are now hoping for the best. This hurricane is definitely a little too close for comfort.

That reminds me of the documentary I watched not too long ago. It was on the Hurricane of 1937 I believe. Everyone was blindsided and so many folks were killed. I guess the storm struck really quickly and viciously. Of course there were no radars then and only ONE young meteorologist thought it would happen like it did- and his bosses blew him off.

I had hotel reservations tonight in cape cod... sigh... They are now closed for the weekend. So to the white mountains of NH we're headed instead. I'm sad that i'll miss my annual cape cod trek!!

Uggg, my DH called me a little while ago to tell me he had received notification to be to work tomorrow night - they're pulling in all resources. He's a firefighter. I don't worry about me or my property so much as I do about him being out in the middle of these crazy storms. He works for a town that is next to an oceanside community and a lot of the times he ends up over there assisting. Please, to anyone who is asked to evacuate their home - please do so. It isn't fair to put somebody else's life in danger when you change your mind and decide you ought to leave half way through the storm.
