I should probably start with my resort history. Most recently I stayed at Beach Club Villas and love, love, LOVED it.
In 2006 we stayed at Old Key West and I also loved it there.
Maybe its the lighthouses that get me??
Back in ~1991 we stayed at Dixie Landings now POR. And before that we stayed at the Buena Vista Palace (multiple times) and a hotel called the Americana Dutch (now the Regal Sun, formerly the Grosevnor)also multiple times.
I am always plotting and trying to find ways to use my Disney addiction to make a living so I have investigated being a
Disney travel agent. In my research I found that most agencies wanted you to have stayed at multiple resorts so that you could offer your clients perspectives. Makes sense. So in the name of research
, I was in search of a new resort I hadnt stayed at before.
Originally I was feeling quite decadent with two trips in two months and booked five nights at Pop Century with a
AAA discount.
That didnt last long. Not long at all.
I LOVED BCV. And I am a deluxe snob at heart (unfortunately without the budget to match). So I called CRO to see what my new Annual Pass might afford me.
I thought that just before Christmas was low season but rooms are pretty booked. Not sure if it is Mousefest or what.
I tried for Wilderness Lodge but no dice. Booked. Totally. Booked. It just seems perfect for Christmastime. Roaring fire. But alas. Not this year.
Oh well, always good to have a reason to go back!!
So I ended up with a split stay. First two nights at Pop (b/c could never start deluxe and downgrade to value!) and then last three nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge!
So Ill check two new resorts off the list and still get to scratch that deluxe itch.
Ive never done a split stay and am curious about the luggage transfer. Is it really as easy as it sounds? I got my ME tags and am confused.
You can see they say AK for Animal Kingdom and then below them it says Pop but Im going to Pop first
do you think this is OK? Maybe I should call just to be sure? Id hate to arrive at Pop only to find my luggage was at AK. Of course Id head right over there and demand a room in exchange for their holding my luggage hostage!!
We're trying to figure out when to go out and enjoy the decorations. Earlier than later but not sure when they all will be up. Are you going to the Christmas party? We went last year and really enjoyed it but can't decide which date to go this year. 
Guess that means if I'm going to try a December trip down the road... I'll be staying in AKV (so I can book at 11mo)!
Of course they did start Halloween in August so who am I to judge. It's the Disney calendar.
