Oh Boy I'm Making Dole Whip!!

You can do this before your trip with your family to hype yourself up, or you can be like me and make it cause you miss being in the world!

I found a recipe for Dole Whip online, and since we had ice cream makers on sale at K-mart, I just HAD to try it out.

The milk is used to top off the mixture. You just add as much as it takes to finish filling up your ice cream maker.

So it turned out kind of gloppy, and it's hardening a bit in the freezer now. But I blame this on the fact that I didn't have enough ice, so good luck to all who tempt to make this yummy treat!

We did this using this recipe and I couldn't believe how close it tasted to the real thing. It was so good!!!!

I wish this was weight watcher friendly. The original is - but this one has so much cream and sugar that I dont think it would be. Has anyone tried to healthy-it-up?

Ingredients

1qt of pineapple juice (Dole)
1tsp vanilla
3C cream
3C cream
milk


Mix the pineapple juice and suger (make sure the sugar is dissolved)

Next add the cream and vanilla

Pour all the mixture into the ice cream container

Add milk to finish filling to the fill line

At this point simply follow instructions on your ice cream maker

When it is done you can serve as is or you can put in in the freezer to set up a bit.

Finally I know what a Dole Whip is. I have never had one but kept seeing it mentioned in various threads and didn't know what they were talking about. Now that I know what it is I guess I'll have to get one so I can see what all the hype is about!

My husband fell in love with them in Feb.05 and makes them also at home with different ingredients.
He mixes in a ultimate chopper yogurt ice cream and crushed pineapple and crushed ice. For a added touch he fry's coconut in the frying pan and tops them with it. It's holding me till I get there in WDW.
