Oh, A Drunk Little Cucumber!! - F&W Fun with Bro and Sis Nov. 11*UPDATE 6/17* Pg.32

What a beautiful dog and cat. That's exactly what my cats do to any open computer. Better yet - when its cold out my male cat will sleep on any open laptop.

I know exactly what you mean about feeling at home at MCO. I feel the same way. And I would rather trade a pedicure for business class. :rotfl:

They are my babies for sure. Tigger sits on my laptop all of the time. She has a tendency to walk across the keys and do funky things to it too.

Yay you're in Florida!! :woohoo:

I would have totally went for the cheap pedi and upgrade to Business Class...priorities! :thumbsup2

:rotfl: at your DD experience! Glad you got your donuts and everything was fine after that!

Nothing wrong with drinking some Bailey's on the flight down, you're on vacation, and anyway, there's like 1% alcohol in it anyway!

Glad that everyone agrees with my cheap pedi / upgrade logic. It worked for me!

That guy at Dunkin' was crazy! I didn't think it would be that difficult to order donuts and coffee. It's not like I asked him to make a special donut or anything. :lmao:

I know, Bailey's just tastes good. It's completely useless as an alcohol.

Oh my gosh! I missed the start of your TR! It sounds like a good travel day, barring the wacky DD guy! Do you suppose his ability to perform his duties is the reason he's been relegated to working at DD at 5 am? :lmao::lmao:

LOVE the frugal pedi/business class thing!! That's totally something I would do!!!

That is infallible logic there with the DD guy. That is probably exactly the reason that he works that early.

I'm so glad everyone agrees on the cheap pedi thing. I like my upgrades! ;)

Can't wait to read all about your trip!

Thanks! Glad you're following along on this one too. :goodvibes

Joining in!

First, I don't think I could ever control myself enough to stuff everything I usually pack into a carry on. Maybe that's why we decide to drive all the time.
Also, your animals are adorable.

:welcome:

Trust me, I was surprised that I was able to do it. I'm a notorious overpacker....

Thanks! They're pretty cute, I do have to say. ;)

I'm joining in! I can sympathize with not being a morning person. My DH wakes me up with caution every morning ;) I love getting to MCO! It feels like you've arrived home for sure. I'm glad you had a good flight and I can't wait to read more about your trip.

Hands down, the next chapter shall be/and hopefully will be "THE ONE WITH HALF A MATTRESS!!!!!!" :)

I am definitely one of those people that you have to leave alone for about 15 minutes in the morning. I have to wake up before I want anyone to talk to me. Otherwise the crab will come out.

That's EXACTLY what the title of the next chapter will be. :lmao:

Agreed; I've snapped at DBF a few times in the morning right after getting up, and he doesn't take it well. So mostly I've tried to just stay quiet or else I'll make a comment I regret later!!!

Exactly! People just don't seem to understand that staying quiet is for THEIR protection....:lmao:

Joining in! What a fun title :rotfl:

:welcome:

Glad you like the title. An explanation will come later in the TR. ;)

!! I didn't see that your dog was on a castle blanket. You're so lucky to have three of them; it's my one must-buy souvenir (though if it's the spend $xx and get $xx off, it may come home with some friends) for our trip.

Aw, I am a morning person in that I wake up really fast (usually at the same time, yay for schedules and not needing an alarm. I usually have to wake up my boyfriend!). It's a self preservation thing after years and years of bossy cats. ;) I wish I could sleep in late, especially on weekends.

They changed the castle blankets a little this year! They're just the castle now, not with the dream lights. Unless they hadn't put the dream lights ones out yet, but I was a little sad.

I am a sleeper. I get that from my dad. We can sleep forever. I don't like to though, because it makes me groggy and I feel like I've wasted so much time.

OMG, I love that her name is Nanook. That is totally awesome. I love the Lost Boys and I begged my parents for an Alaskan Malamute named Nanook.

Subbing to you trip report. Looking forward to reading more :thumbsup2

Thanks! Honestly, it just came to me when I picked her out. I wanted her name to be appropriate. I thought I was so cool. :lmao:

Aw, I thought the blankets with the dream lights were very cool - I can't even imagine the blanket without them. I waffled on buying one last year and now wish I had. I bet the cat just would have ended up with it, though.

I'm a big fan of napping. I especially love spring and fall naps. But every so often, I'll take a nice nap and then wake up feeling like I came down with a nasty case of the flu. I can't wake up, I feel sick and disoriented, I'm still so tired I can't hardly lift my head; it's awful! Probably once out of every 5-6 naps I take, this happens. But I love the GOOD naps, so I still take them.

Ok, enough about naps - what about DISNEY? :yay:

My favorite airport! :cool1: I like arriving in the daytime - seeing the palm trees and sunshine and being a part of all the hustle and bustle. Arriving at night when it's dark and quiet is not as exciting.

I love travel day, well, I love Disney travel days! All the anticipation of what's to come just makes me happy!!

I get crazy at Tim Horton's in the morning if they mess up my order....it's coffee for heaven's sake:lmao:

Love the pics of your dog and cat....they are so cute:goodvibes

I'm here, a little late, but here!

I totally relate about the not being a morning person thing! I always say that I'm a skilled sleeper...I'm really good at it! :rotfl: After having done an early-morning-departure trip now, I have to say I very much favor the late-evening travel time we usually have.

We have that castle dream lights blanket on our couch right now! Love it!

Nanook looks adorable all curled up in that pic. Is the skunk smell all gone now?

I have something that Tigger might like. We heard about this and tried it with Kitty (who doesn't have any particular interest in the iPad) and she had a blast! Go to this site: http://gamesforcats.com/ Kitty played the fishing game and was pouncing on the fish...very cool! It looks like there are some more games available now.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip!

I can't imagine the blanket without them either. I was a little disappointed about the new one now.

Don't worry. I'm getting to Disney.

It is a huge difference showing up at night vs. in the evening. I normally end up arriving at night, so the day time is always a nice change.

I love the anticipation of travel days too. It all means it's coming together. :goodvibes

I hate it when my order gets messed up! It's not that complicated, really.

Thanks! The boogers are pretty cute.

That's a great way of putting it too! That makes me a skilled sleeper as well. I also prefer traveling at night too though. I think it will remain my preference.

Nanook does not smell like skunk anymore, thank goodness! We're just super paranoid when she goes outside now.

I heard that there were kitty games on the iPad. I will have to look into that.

We left off with me arriving in Orlando and getting my car from the rental company. It was off to the World for me!!!

This is where I love my new phone and the talk to text feature. I was able to communicate with mom and Megan on my drive in. Very handy that I don't need to do anything but talk into the phone to send a text message.

Very soon, I was arriving here!

63cba1b1.jpg

I made really good time and pulled into Caribbean Beach. I pulled in at the Custom's House and headed over. Megan was waiting for me outside! :cool1: And guess what I didn't get? A picture of our first meet! Epic fail! :rotfl2:

After we got that out of the way, we headed in to get me checked in. I was hoping that I would be able to get my requests. Let's see shall we?

The lobby was pretty busy, but we didn't wait in line for too long. I got up to the CM and advised them of the room requests that I had sent. He called to see what he could do, but told me that since the reservation was made with DVC, they would not be able to move me out of a pirate room. :confused3 Even though technically I would be downgraded? Someone asks for a downgrade and they don't want to give it to me?

The funny thing was, I told him my concerns, and he told me that if I wasn't happy, to come back and they'd see what they could do. So, you can't switch me now, but if I'm irritated, you will change it? I accepted it, because I figured I couldn't judge the room until I saw it.

Megan and I headed out and grabbed our respective cars to get to my building. Building 35 in Trinidad South. Boy, it was far away! The drive even seemed to take some time. Thank goodness for a rental car!

We both pulled in and I unloaded. I was on the 2nd floor. The room's location was pretty decent. And here's what I saw when we went in.

Sorry, that was after the bed bug search.

Pretty cool. But the coup de grace was to come.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the mattress on the bed. And my hand. No, I do not have obnoxiously large hands....

60b73320.jpg

All of the reports are indeed correct. It is not a full mattress. It's like a mattress pad. The true test would come later though. What would happen when I slept on it? We'll have to see...

I changed quickly, because dangit, I was hungry! Megan was too, she had been going since an early time as well. Donuts don't last too long in your tummy, that's for sure. Megan and I decided to eat at Old Port Royale.

I got.

It's a chicken sandwich and cheesecake. The chicken sandwich was actually pretty good. Megan got pizza, salad, carrot cake and water. We chatted while we ate and found that our families are very similar, which is cool. Our dads seem to be alike and we are too. Always a good sign!

After lunch, it was time to head out to DHS. Megan got us some fastpasses for TSM, and there was NO way those were going to waste. We drove over in Megan's car. Clearly, we broke Megan's no driving rule....

We drove over. And got sent down a brand new row for parking. That ALWAYS happens to me. D'oh.

We took a tram to the entrance, which is another thing I don't normally do. But we were pretty far in the lot and the tram had just arrived. Once inside, we decided that our first stop would be ToT. I'm a crackhead with my app for Disney and was checking the posted times pretty frequently. ToT was posted at 10 minutes. Score! And, it was actually more like walk on, not a wait at all.

2a53406f.jpg

On top of it being a short wait, our elevator wasn't even full. Is someone trying to tell me something??.....

After we survived our plummet, we checked our Rockin' Roller Coaster, but the wait time was posted at 45 minutes. We decided to skip that. We also checked out Star Tours, but the wait was 35 minutes. We didn't want to wait too long, because our TSM fastpasses were coming up soon.

Well, if all else fails in DHS, where do you go?

bf73cd32.jpg

Where the ending is "a glorious three hour finale celebrating all countries, but mostly America".

Can you tell I love this attraction? I am so excited about the Muppet Movie. Completely stoked!

I had to get into character. What do you think, is it me?

b94c6022.jpg

You know you like it. You know you're thinking it would be totally awesome to own one.

Admit it.

I dare you.

It was time for our fastpasses now. So we started heading over to TSM.

080d9ec6.jpg

Do you notice that? Unheard of. It's 3pm and the wait time is only 40 minutes. I don't think I've ever seen that!

We went in, and the CM was so funny. She looks at us and says "you guys know what you're doing, huh?" That was because Megan's FP had a return of 9am, and mine had a return of 3pm. Yup, we know what we're doing.

Here are our scores.

c2c4bbdd.jpg

495b2b60.jpg

Who do you think won? I'll take votes. :rolleyes1

After that, we decided that we would both head back to our respective resorts. We were going to spend the evening in the MK, so we wanted to get some rest first. Not before I had to make a stop though. I wanted to go to....

Starring Rolls. It was calling my name. That butterfinger cupcake. The one I've never eaten. The one I've heard so much about. The one that would send me into a food coma for sure.

We headed in. There was a small line. There was one left in the case...The guy in front of me was contemplating his choices.

I grabbed him by the collar and say in his ear "that is my butterfinger cupcake. If you select that, you will regret it. You will lose all memory. Don't you take my cupcake!"

Well, I didn't really do that. But I was tempted to. You didn't really think I said that, did you? :rolleyes1

It's so beautiful.....

Wipe that drool off your chin, your computer, your table, your lap. I know it's an involuntary reaction.

I took that baby back to my room to enjoy as a snacky before my nappy. I hopped a bus back and Megan drove her car. It was time for a snooze and the true test of the bed. It will all be known now.

Up next: How's the bed?

That pirate room looks pretty cool, but I'm interested to hear how that half a mattress worked out for you! Pretty good TSM scores! That is surprising that it was only a 40 minute standby at that time!
