Hi everyone! We will be driving down to Disney from NJ the end of November. We will arrive the evening before we are to check in to our Disney Resort. I have been trying to get a room there but there is nothing available. So I am looking for a nice, but affordable, offsite hotel for 1 night. Some I have found are pretty pricey. Would cost more than staying at a value on site. :confused3

Edit to add my dates needed: one night Friday, 11/23-11/24 and one night Friday, 11/30-12/1

Rates at non-Disney hotels can vary greatly depending upon date and area demand. For example, I've recall staying at the Hilton Lake Buena Vista across the street from Disney Springs for $69/night. I considered extending my stay for one night. That idea was quickly abandoned when I was told that my base-level room was priced at $299 for that additional night.

If you can provide a date, party size, and any must-haves (free parking, breakfast, etc), some of us regulars on this forum will give you advice based on what's actually available.

If you're not comfortable providing a date, I'd recommend checking out hotels in Lake Mary. That's an exurb north of Downtown Orlando off Interstate 4. Rates at hotels in that area are usually decent, in my experience. The drive to Disney World is a about an hour and 15 minutes, provided by avoid rush hour.

Or, if you want to go all the way to the Disney Area, try pricing the Hilton Garden Inn Lake Buena Vista, Residence Inn Lake Buena Vista, or the Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista located on Palm Parkway. Those hotels tend to have lower rates because they aren't within walking distance of any restaurants.

Here's a Bing Map showing their location:

Thank you! I found that was happening when I was pricing hotels. I also need one night at the end of my trip as well. The dates will be one night, Friday 11/23-11/24 and one night, Friday 11/30-12/1 When I was looking the one was more more than likely because it’s the day after Thanksgiving! Thanks again for the suggestions and your help!

Agree with @writerguyfl on his points.

Your first night is the tough one because of holiday so you could look farther out. We have often done what you do and we have booked about an hour away and saved plenty.

Just glancing at Hilton there are a few with decent rates.
Look at Marriott Village and the Delta just outside Disney Springs they have decent rates, Flamingo Crossing rates not bad either.
Many of the above include breakfast so that offsets the rate too.
Your first date will be slightly higher but still reasonable to me.

Try Comfort Suites Main Gate East. They have great reviews, breakfast, and free parking. I think they have availability for both of your dates, and they're convenient to Disney.

Thanks! I will check them out! I think you are right in maybe trying to be further out that first night.

Thanks! I will check it out!

So I think I will find better rates further out from Disney, like some have mentioned above. Any suggestions on where to look? I will be coming down 95 to I4. I don’t want to be any further out than 30 mins or so. Thanks!

Try the OMNI Hotel at Champions Gate ..... Just off Hwy 27 &4 miles from Hwy I4

( a 25 min or less drive to Animal Kingdom )

Thanks I will check it out! Do you know anything about Wingate by Wyndham Kissimmee at Celebration? Found a good deal on Expedia! It is $65 a night! However, I cannot find any reviews because it’s fairly new apparently!

In May we stayed at Clarion Inn Lake Buena Vista.
8442 Palm Pkwy 407-996-7300. No resort charge.
Free parking. Near Disney Springs area. They have a traffic light so you can make the left hand turn to go to Disney. It is a very large complex.

We just got back from the Comfort Suites Maingate East. It was our second stay. First time was just a one night stay, this one was a 4 night stay. It was very nice, it is well maintained. Breakfast is a bit crowded, but they keep it moving pretty well. Food is standard free breakfast food - hot items are meh but if you just want cereal or waffles, you're good to go. For the price ($75 a night for our stay) it was a great deal. Traffic was easy to navigate and easy and quick to get to the parks. No more than 10 -15 minutes.
