Too much food?
would you cut anything out?

My child is a constant eater..and we plan on bringing some lunches into the park..like sandwiches...I thought about packing lunchables..and maybe those deli spirals?..the rice krispies...trail mix...pringles...and of course we will be eating a Mickey Ice cream bar on a daily basis!:cool1:

Wow 114 views and no comments.....must be a bad/silly thread? Or maybe people think I am crazy for planning on that many meals at the rental?:rotfl2:

I have never preordered groceries, so it seems like an overwhelming task to me. But it looks like what I would buy in a week for eating at home, so I don't think it's outrageous at all.

Well-planned meals. Breakfast and lunch look easy to grab-n-go. Dinners look simple, but still yummy. :)

Good job, in my opinion! :thumbsup2

Oh, one thing I just thought of. My kids will ask for ice cream as a treat. Going out for ice cream cost a fortune, so I usually let them pick an extra special ice cream flavor (or some type of novelty) on vacation for them to eat back at the house.

Of course we will have icecream!--I"m thinking of having a carton or two picked up and then some yummies for toppings! :)

Its been a little overwhelming..but I am a visual person..so I have been making up "menus"...Also..planning this vaca on a budget has been fun and a challenge!:thumbsup2

it is a lot for a vacation - but the prices have gone up at Disney, and the quality has sunk way down...

we also used wegoshop our last trip - I love this service! They are easy to reach, to add or subtract an item - I just think they do a great job! for our breakfast I added the breakfast sandwiches (Bob Evans I think is the brand I used) I didnt get sandwiches from wegoshop - that was a mistake, I was surprised at how often we did return to our villa for a rest! We grabbed our breakfast sandwich and headed for the bus stop to get there at rope drop - then back to the villa for rest, pool time and lunch. It worked out great for us!

I had her pick up bananas for us - and she did great picking just the right ripeness - so if you are having banana splits, or a quick breakfast snack... add bananas! (which I see IS on your list!)

also, I dont know what you are drinking beyond water - the crystal lite packets to add to bottle water is good. We enjoy adult beverages, so we added that to our list... (for instance I absolutely love a Rosa Regale champagne from Italy - its red, berry flavored, a glass is at least $10, but you can buy a whole bottle and wegoshop delivered, it was $16 at Publix - cheaper than 2 glasses in Italy!) Coffee, tea? you may need coffee filters, and sugar! (and if you have sugar you can take your grapes rinse them, coat them in sugar and freeze for a nice treat)

That sounds like a menu I would do. I think you forgot to factor in the price of juiceboxes. I know that we go through tons of drinks when are on vacation and it's important to keep hydrated when we are not used to the heat.

We are also staying offsite, for two weeks and I will have at some point, five teenagers. To keep costs down we are eating as we do at home, lots of cheap crockpot meals. I'm driving, so I can pack the crockpot. But our plan is the same, cereal and toast for breakfast, eggs for the egg people, pack PBJ for lunch with lots of snackies and then an easy dinner at home, either microwave or waiting in crockpot. Our place has a BBQ. There will also be several trips to Golden Corral, something we don't have at home, per request of the teenagers. Disney dining isn't in our budget.

I should probably add a case of juiceboxes...and maybe a few 2 liters of Soda..but for the parks we want to emphasize on drinking bottled water..my kid will drink one juice box after another if I let him.

Since we fly southwest and get 2 free bags per person..I plan on packing a suitcase with things like sugar/coffee...oatmeal packets..cereal bars..odds and ends that won't spoil! :)

Do you think the Deli Spirals (sold with the appetizers) will go over well if kept in a cooler..and eaten at the parks? I used them at a Birthday party last summer and we loved them!

I also thought about ordering a party sub/platter from Sams Club and having that ready to go for the week..but not sure how long something like that would last? Probably only a few days?

Sounds great. We order similar things when we visit too.

When you use wegoshop, can you see the prices? Didn't see them on the website, but I also didn't log in all the way.

Considering this for our April trip staying at Bonnet Creek!

In the past I have used gardengrocer, but their prices are almost double super walmart so I am having trouble justifying it in my mind.

Thanks!

Their prices are not on their site..except for the Delivery fee. Basically you choose what store you want them to shop at and give them a list of what you want 4-6 weeks in advance. If you need a specific brand..you need to specify..the more info you can give..the better..but if you are "okay" with them shopping sales..then will select whichever product is the best price!:cool1:

Don't forget condiments.

I see French Toast Sticks...how about maple syrup?
For those sandwiches, you might want/need mustard & mayo
You listed salad, I don't see salad dressing on the list.
For that taco meal, how about sour cream, shreded cheese, salsa?
Butter or spray oil for preparing the scrambled eggs

If you need any spices, you might want to package them up (per meal) in a double ziploc bag and label them.

since you're flying and get free baggage i totally agree to pack as much food as you can in your suitcase. don't forget about baggies to make ice packs and to put your sandwiches into. i don't see milk on your list, if you add milk to raw scrambled eggs you can cook them right in the microwave!

:) Yes..I've considered those items...I'm going to pack them myself..but things like sourcream/cheese..items that are perishable will be purchased by wegoshop at publix...I was just first making my list for Sams club because I had access to the prices...:thumbsup2

I think your list looks great! We're staying offsite for the first time on this trip as well but I still have about 12 ADR's for 8 days :scared1: I still have made up my grocery list and keep adding/subtracting things from it daily. We only need a few breakfasts & snack foods for late at night plus our sodas/waters that we plan to bring in the park. It's hard to figure out exactly what you'll need so I tried to go a bit under... if worst comes to worst, we'd have to buy in the parks, yikes!
