Has anyone stayed at any Disneyland area hotels? Am looking for suggestions to something that would be close without staying at a DL hotel. Am traveling 7/29 thru 8/03 and from what I have seen of rates, not sure I can afford Disney property.

Am not renting a car, would need to be able to walk back and forth. Any suggestions to hotels and why did you like it there.
Thanks for your help!

Just cruise through the pages below. Plenty of info.:thumbsup2

Best Western Park Place Inn was great last month! Directly across the street. Closest hotel. Big suite rooms, great continental breakfast every morning (hard boiled eggs, toast, bagels and crm chs, danishes, donuts, juice, milk, coffee, cereals, oranges, apples). Nice outdoor pool, great laundry facility, friendly staff, clean rooms. No, I don't work for BW - we'd definitely stay here again and again, unless of course we could stay at the Grand Californian;) We paid $109/ night which was cheap because we booked early. It had gone up by the time we'd arrived to $129 or so for a suite.

Lots of people recommend this hotel, just search it in this forum.
Happy Planning.

We just stayed there this week and stayed at Holiday Inn Aneheim. We really liked it. It really wasn't walking distance. It is located on the back side of Micky & Friends parking structure but they have a shuttle that takes you back and forth. It was $75/night. Very nice room and plenty of space for the 5 of us. I booked it through travelocity. Just don't order room service! $75 worth of very cold food. Oh well....live and learn.
Good Luck!

I parked my car at the Anaheim Fairfield by Marriot on 4/15 and never touched it again until it was time to leave on 4/19.

The rooms were a decent sized, clean and comfy. Mini-fridge in room. Our room had two queen beds and an "easy chair" that opened like a sofa bed and my 8yo dd fell in LOVE w/ it! lol! That was her private turf for the whole time we were there.

The staff friendly. It took about 5 mins to walk from the hotel to the parking tram drop off/pick up area. There's a McD's at the end of hte first driveway, a Mimi's at the end of the second driveway and a restaurant called "Millie's" on property. We liked Mimi's and didn't get a chance to try Millie's.

Also, in the hotel there's a mini "food court" ... w/ breakfast sandwiches, pizza, and full-service coffee (espresso, etc).

The pool was a bit small, which didn't matter to us, but might matter in August.

Happy Plnaning.

Sheraton Anaheim...its the best ...I swear by it...reasonably priced and they have their own shuttle:goodvibes

Check out biddingfortravel.com and betterbidding.com to see what hotels people are getting in the Disneyland area. The most common 3* wins are the Crowne Plaza, Hyatt Regency, Doubletree, et.al. They are a usually a shuttle away, but for $45-$60 a nite, I think worth it. We won the Doubletree last year, and being a 5 or so minute shuttle ride away was no problem. A bonus was being right next to The Block at Orange, and away from the busy Harbor Boulevard. Explore all your options.

Well this year were staying onsite but next year I'm planning on doing Best Western Park Place Inn or Howard Johnson. Both are within walking distance, both have really good reviews here, and have nice rooms at a good price.

And very close to the walkway to the parks. We enjoyed our stay and they had a continental breakfast and a pool on the roof. The rooms were nice, but we really did not spend too much time there, always at the parks!!!

Have fun.

My family and I stayed at the Candy Cane Inn last year and really enjoyed it.

The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the park, or they have a free shuttle that runs between the hotel and the the parks (we didn't use the shuttle very much it was much faster to walk).

Another perk was that they had a complimentry continental breakfast, which was a perk for us since we were paying for everyone's meals :)
