Offsite dining?

Question? Can a family who is staying offsite dine at a resort restaurant? and one other thing, I have a 6 year old son and I want to have a character meal for him but I dont know where to have one or how to go about planning one. Please help so I can do this for him.

Sure you can book a resort meal. We even did when we were staying at the "competition" (US/IOA). What characters does your son like? I assume by resort you meant a hotel and not a park. We actually prefer the park character meals. Donals breakfast o saurus at Animal Kingdom and Hollywood and vine at MGM are our favorites. Most boys love donald's because of the dinosaur theming. here is the link for the DIS page on dining. Under priority seating info you'll find how to book a meal. Under PS caculator you can get a chart with all of your call dates (some restaurants are 120 days, others are as little as 30)

You should consider trying Chef Mickeys at the CR. Your son would like it as it is great fun for kids (and big kids)!

Thanks everybody for the ideas I think I will check them out and see what I come up with. I think he would like the, uh, let me see if I can spell this, Restaurantsaurs (LOL) but we were gonna do the Animal Kingdom on our first day there and we wont make it there by breakfast so, I think I may check on the Hollywood and Vine and see what I come up with. Myself, I'd love to do the Castle but Im sure my son wouldnt care much for a princess meal. (boy I would though) LOL. Im a big baby too, I never got to go when I was little so Im enjoying this as much as he is, but I want to make it extra special for him. Well guys I will talk to you later.
